Whats a date?

"why is the fusion, un-fused?" your train of thought was broken by the small green gem that stood before you. You look over from your seat at the window toward the couch where the two said gems sat, you smiled at the sound of there whispering and quite giggles before looking back at Peridot.
"It's valentine's day Peri."
"And what exactly is this Valentine's day?"
"hmm" you hum to yourself turning towards the window and looking over beach city thinking of a good response.
"Valentine's day is a day when people send cards or do something special with the one their romantically involved with or attracted to." you watch as she furrows her eyebrows in confusion looking over at where Ruby and Sapphire where sitting.
"But, I thought fusion was their special thing?"
"Maybe there on a date" you say shrugging your shoulders and turning back to face the window.
"What's a Date?" she asks confused as a smirk starts to make its way onto your face as you get up from your sitting position.
"How 'bout I show you" you say before grabbing her hand and running out the door leaving a confused Ruby and Sapphire behind you.

"(y/n)... Please.... Slow down" you final stop running, letting go of Peridot's hand as she collapses on the ground behind you panting.
"I thought Gems didn't need to breath?" you say, looking down at her from where your standing.
"It's... a complicated subject" she reply as her breathing goes back to normal. You offer your hand out to her as she takes it, pulling herself back up off the ground.
"Where are we?"
"Funland arcade!" you shout, throwing your hands up in the air and gesturing to the sign above you.
"Funland arcade...." Peridot says slowly, looking up at the sign and then back down at you.
"And what exactly do you do at Funland arcade?"
"You have Fun silly" you laugh, grabbing her hand and walking into the building.
"So this is how Humans... Entertain themselves" Peridot mutter to her self, looking round at all the flashing machines.
"What happened over there" she asks, pointing over to one of the games, the screen was smashed on it and it had part of the machinery sticking out of it, an aggressively written 'out of order' note had been taped to the top of it. You laughed nervously, looking away as an embarrassed blush covered you cheeks.
"haha, yea.... Lets just move away from that...." you say as you drag Period over to a different game.
"Let's play this instead" You drag her over to a DDR game, placing a coin in the slot.
"What's DDR?..." she asks, stepping on the the platform cautiously.
"It's called Dance Dance Revolution" you say laughing at her reaction to the game "You have to dance to the beat of the music by stepping on the arrows in time with the screen"
"Ha, that's it? This'll be easy" she says confidently as you pick a song for her, as the music starts you look over at Peridot smiling at the concentrated expression on her face 'she's so cute' you think to yourself as a blush covers your face, yes you may have a sliiight crush on Peridot and yes, you may of been planning to take her on a date for a while now, her curiosity just gave you a good opportunity and you weren't gonna miss it. You chain of thoughts are once again broke by the green gem cursing under her breath at the game, you watch as she tripped over her own feet, face planting the floor.
She lets out a long sigh as you try to suppress a giggle.
"Maybe DDR isn't your thing?" You ask, giggling slightly as you help her up "let's try something different" you walk over to one of those zombie shooting games as she mumbles behind you. You place one of the metal guns in her arms, taking her by surprise.
"Let's try this one"

"DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE"
It had been three hours........ THREE HOURS! And peridot was still playing the shooting game. You sigh, placing your head in your hands 'why did I show her that game?!' You think to your self as your head slips out of your hands, face planting the table you where sat at.
"YES! Peridot the master blaster has claimed victory once again! Bow down to me now lowly mortals NYEH HEHEHEHE" you look up to see that Peridot had climbed on top of one of the control panels of the game and was waving the fake gun around in the air laughing like a maniac.
"Right that's enough, time to go" you say, walking over and scoping her up in your arms, you look down at her, giggling at her blushing face.
"I'm not up for working here again due to another broken game so no more zombies for you" you aww at the pouty expression that appears on her face that's soon replaced by a blush as she starts to squirm in your arms.
"I can walk you know"
"Oh sorry!" You quickly put her down, rubbing the back of your neck nervously as you leave the building.

"I want that" you turn around to find Peridot pointing to another of the machines, you haven't even taken 5 steps away from the building and Peridot had found another machine to spend (*coughcough*your*coughcough*) money on. You peer inside the machine to see what Peridot was pointing at, sitting in side the machine was a small pink narwhale plushy, it had a sparkly horn, moustache, and a monocle. You look back over at Peridot to be greeted with puppy dog eyes, sighing you hand her some money, laughing at the little victory dance she does.
"I'm going to get some ice cream, you want anything?" You ask, but she just shakes her head in response as she concentrates on the game in front of her.

You where sat on a bench next to the claw machine, you'd finished your ice cream a while ago and decided to just watch Peridot as she try's to win the plushy, you giggle quietly at her expression, she had her tongue sticking out in concentration. 'Cute' you think to yourself, giving her a soft smile. You watch her glance over at you quickly, a light blush spreading across her face as she see's you staring, she quickly looking back at the game in front of her as you laugh making her blush darken. Suddenly she tenses up, you direct your attention to the claw machine, seeing that she managed to pick up the plushy, you hold your breath as the claw moves over towards the drop pit. The claw jolts causing the plushy to slip slightly.
"Just a little further...." you mumble under your breath, before jumping of the bench, cheering with Peridot as she wins the plushy.
"You did it" you say, smiling brightly at her.
"Of corse" she replies, a smug grin on her face as she places her hands on her hips "I've helped defeat planets before! This was merely a stepping stone for me"
"Really now?" You say sarcastically, shaking your head at her. You look out out across the beach watching the ocean be bathed in a yellowish light as it reflects the sunset. Sighing you turn your to Peridot.
"I should probably take you back to the barn, it'll be dark soon"
"I am capable at walking back myself"
"Yes I know, but it's common curtesy after a date that you walk them back to there house, car, bus and so on" you say, rubbing the back of your neck and looking away from her, a light blush on your face.
"Oh" a light blush appears on her face as you laugh, nudging her side.
"Come on" you laugh, smiling at her "let's get a move on"

"And that's when I crashed into earth!" Peridot finishes off her story as you stopped in front of the barn.
"Well it sounds like you had a very interesting journey" you say laughing.
"It was" she say smugly before a light blush covers her cheeks, you furrow your eyebrows in confusion as she looks away from you, holding out the plushy she'd won earlier on.
"you can have this" she plushes the plushy further towards you, indicating for you to take it.
"No I can't take this" you decline, pushing it away from you "not after you worked so hard to get it"
"No, I want you to have it" she says, pushing it into your arm and moving away, still avoiding eye contact with you as her blush darkens "to say thank you for our.. date"
"Well if you really insist" you smile at her as she regains eye contact with you giving you a shy smile back. "Thank you"
"Oh no need to thank me, it's just a silly stuffed toy" she say, her confidence coming back to her.
"Mmmmmmhmm" you raise an eye brow at her as she smiles back sheepishly.
"So I guess this is the end of our date then"
"It's is, Will I be seeing yo-" you where cut of by a kiss on the cheek from Peridot.
"Wh-what was that for?!" You shout in surprise, a dark blush covering your cheeks and burning the tops of your ears.
"Well that's what happens at the end of dates" she says smirking.
"But you told me you didn't know what a date was?!"
"Bye bye (Y/N)" she says smugly, slinking back into the barn and closing the door, leaving you stood outside in shock. After a few minutes you slowly start to regain your composure, giggling giddily as you skipped away from the barn back to your apartment, ready to tell Steven what had happened the next day.
