The sun was shining high and bright in his eyes. He tried shielding his eyes from the offensive light to no avail. He groaned grumpily reaching out to hide his face in her body. His searching hand could only find cold sheets. He opened his eyes to find the bed...empty.

She left.

The realization hit him like a truck. He knew it was coming but it still hurt.

He went to the bathroom to quickly freshen up and get dressed. He was on his way to the balcony to sneak out the same way he snuck in when the doorknob rattled. He quickly opened the glass door and hid outside behind the curtain as the bedroom door opened and closed. He heard the shuffling of footsteps followed by a knock on what he assumed was the bathroom. "You there?" she called out softly.

She didn't leave!

Relief washed over him and he stepped out of his hiding place, "no, here," he answered giddily.

Startled, she twirled around, "you scared me!" she accused, "I thought you left."

He smiled at the irony of her statement deciding to kiss her instead of commenting.

"I miss this," she sighed blissfully resting her head on his chest.

"Me too," he replied hugging her tighter, placing several kisses to the top of her head.

They remained like this for a few moments taking each other in, trying to make up for lost times.

"Everyone should be up by now," she spoke, "let's go."

He turned toward the balcony but she took his hand and headed to the door instead. His brows furrowed in confusion, "Deepu?"

She kissed his cheek then opened the door and they stepped out together.

Her friends were gathered around the kitchen table with coffees and teas in hands. They all looked up at the unexpected guests. The girls gasped. The guys gaped. Everyone was silently stunned for a moment until Neha dropped her teacup and ran over to Deepika hugging her with all her might. "Arrey!" Deepika giggled at the sudden bone-crushing attack.

Ranveer was also hugged by another friend, Shreya, "it's so good to see you again," she told him emotionally.

"I'm so happy!" a tearful Neha announced.

"Stop being so filmy, yaar," Harshita rolled her eyes at one friend while giving the other a smile.

Deepika didn't predict this kind of reaction and was feeling a bit overwhelmed and burdened by the sudden expectations and assumptions.

Ranveer was overwhelmed by the warm welcome of her friends and what seemed like genuine happiness for their friend. He couldn't imagine what she must've been through to garner such a reaction. Instinctively, he wrapped his arms around her hugging her from behind and placed a tender kiss on her cheek.

Deepika rested her hands on top of his and continued chatting with her friends while her mind was running a hundred miles an hour. What does this mean? What is she going to do? How can she leave? Were all questions she didn't have the answer to nor wanted to answer.

Later that day, Deepika was finally alone with her thoughts. Ranveer went back to set and her friends were busy with each other. She went back to the cabin she shared with her family and up to her room.

The last twenty-four hours were one of the best she's had in five years. If not THE best. She felt as if she had been spinning aimlessly and finally found her stabilizer again. Forget stabilizers! She's finally found the love of her life again! She wasn't big on titles and announcements. She never even liked the terms "boyfriend/girlfriend" or wanted to be called such. Thus, it's safe to assume she never thought of Ranveer as the love of her life. She simply thought he was the man she loved at that moment in time and when things didn't work out, she assumed they'd both go their separate ways and each will be happy again. Boy, was she wrong! Just about ALL of it. He was--is--the love of her life. And each certainly wasn't happy separately. She could finally acknowledge that, at last.

Now to rectify that misery, they need to be together. If only it was that easy, she scoffed. She can't abandon her career in the West and come back. She can't allow him to abandon his career here and go with her either. She was stuck with no way out. Back to square one, she goes. How can they be together when they can't be together? They already tried the long distance route and look where it got them. Someone has to sacrifice with the risk they might end up resenting the other. A risk she didn't know if she was willing to take, yet.

On the other side of town, a giddy Ranveer walked on to set with the goofiest happiest smile anyone had ever seen on him. "What a beautiful day," he announced delightfully.

"Are you high?" the director inquired suspiciously.

"High on love," he grinned.

"No, seriously, are you high? Or drunk?" the director persisted.

"My brain has never been clearer, sir," he chuckled.

"Then what is it?" the director laughed.

"I'm moving to the LA," he announced.

A/N: I've changed her friends' names because I thought it would be too creepy to include the real people. However, I tried keeping the names as close as possible such that you would be able to guess them easily.

Disclaimer: this story is work of fiction. It uses real people as characters but it has nothing to do with the real Ranveer or Deepika or any of their industry friends. It's not meant to offend or defraud either. It's just for fun. Take a chill pill and don't share it with the real deepveer because that's a dick move.
