Ian's P.O.V.
5:30 P.M.
Work has finally ended and it is now time for us to go home. Oh, it's almost time for dinner, too. Wait a minute, the last time I checked, my fridge was empty. Oh well, looks like I'm eating out tonight.
I half-ran towards the punch clock to check out. After doing that, I went inside the elevator and went down to the ground floor. Then, after reaching the ground floor, I went outside the elevator only to see through the lobby windows that it was raining hard, hard enough to almost flood the streets. Seeing the situation outside, my right hand automatically reached for my car keys. Wait, my car is number coded today, which means that I need to get a ride fast. Worrying about what I will do, I saw Celene, as well as my other colleagues, walking towards the building's exit.
"Hey, Celene!", I called out for her.
Turning around to face me, she asked, "Yes, Ian?"
"Can I get a ride? My car is number coded today, and I don't have an umbrella with me.", I reasoned.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot help you right now. My car broke down a day ago, and it's currently in a workshop.", she remorsefully told me.
"Oh, okay. Thanks anyways.", I replied, worrying more about how I'm supposed to go home.
After asking Celene, I asked a few more of my officemates if they could give me a ride, but none of them agreed to do so. Fuck. Well, look who's going to need to run to the nearest convenience store? That's damn right, me.
Well, I guess I gotta get ready for some marathon shit that's about to happen. So, while I'm getting ready for my impromptu marathon to the convenience store nearest to my workplace, somebody called me. When I turned around to the direction where it came from, I saw Reigart waving his umbrella at me.
"Hey, Ian! I heard that you don't have a ride today. So, I was thinking, do you want to share an umbrella with me?", he told me. Well, that was unexpected.
"I'm sorry, what?", I asked, slightly confused.
With a look of amusement, he repeated what he told me, "I asked you if you wanted to share an umbrella with me."
"Really? Are you sure about that?", I asked, feeling thankful that he offered to share his umbrella with me, yet slightly uneasy that the two of us might not fit under it.
"Yep, I'm sure. Besides, it can fit two people under it, so don't worry about us not fitting in under it", he assured me.
"Okay then", I replied, still unsure about making the decision of sharing an umbrella with him.
"So, shall we?", he asked, gesturing to the direction of the exit.
"Yes, we shall.", I replied, and started walking to the exit with him.
Just before going under the heavy rain, he prepared the umbrella that we'll share. As it turns out, he was right. The umbrella was more than enough to fit two people under it. After he's done doing that, we finally walked out from our building.
The walk was very awkward, with him holding the umbrella for the two of us and I holding our bags. When we finally got near the convenience store, I asked him if we could stop over there for a moment.
Getting inside the store with me, he asked, "So, why don't you have a ride today?"
Looking at him, I replied, "My car got number coded today, I have no umbrella with me, and don't want to go an a taxi hunt today. Wait, I'll just go and find myself an umbrella, okay?", then proceeded to start looking for umbrellas.
