Harry could feel the familiar throbbing in his head as he woke up the next morning beside the brunette from the previous night. Her head was rested on his chest and he harshly pushed her off. She fluttered her eyes open, then sat up and sleepily looked at him.
“Well? Get the fuck out,” he snapped. The girl quickly scrambled to her feet, threw on her clothes, and practically ran out the door. He fell back down on the mattress.
As he closed his eyes to sleep again, a pounding on the door jolted him awake. He groaned. The pounding continuously increased, until it was certain the door would break door if the assault continued.
"I'm coming, fuck," Harry mumbled, shuffling towards the door. He swung it open to reveal Niall, completely dressed in his usual attire: a graphic tee, a snapback, and either skinny jeans or sweatpants (today he was wearing grey sweatpants).
"What?" Harry snapped.
"Well, hello to you too, Dick," Niall chuckled, walking passed Harry into the room. "You coming to class today?"
"I don't know... Why?" Harry yawned, then sat down on the foot of the bed.
"Because I need a ride and Louis is too hung over to even speak," he said.
“I might go.” Harry wasn’t too drunk; he had only consumed about three glasses of alcohol the previous night. Plus, he might as well get used to the new classes while they’re still new. “Yeah, I’ll go. Give me a second to change and I’ll meet you outside.”
He watched Niall nod, then trot out the bedroom door, which Harry quickly closed behind him. He hated when people left his door open. It was one of the many things he hated, actually, followed by mouth-breathers, clingy girls, when people went in his room without permission; the list could go on and on.
Once he was dressed, his hair was somewhat decent, and his teeth were brushed, he slipped on his shoes and, grabbing his keys from the dresser on his way out, left the room. He skipped down the stairs and didn’t so much as glance at the mounds of trash and sleeping bodies littering the entire house.
He walked outside, the cold morning wind wafting through his hair as he unlocked his black 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. He slid in the driver’s seat and, once Niall was sitting in the passenger seat beside him, drove to the opposite side of campus.
Natalie had spent over three hours deciding on an outfit for her first day. It took much of her strength to decline Lily’s many offers of letting her borrow some clothes, but she managed to convince herself to stick to her own wardrobe. She needed to make a good first impression on her first day, and dressing like a 1990’s rocker chick would not do justice for that cause.
“Are you ready to go, Natalie?” Lily called from the bathroom down the hall.
“Yes,” Natalie replied, loud enough for Lily to hear, as she straightened out her floral-printed dress with her hands and did a once-over in the mirror on the wall. The dress, and one other garment, was the only pieces of clothing she’d brought with her. She needed to call her mother and ask her to drop off the rest of her things soon. “I am ready.”
“Well, don’t you look cute,” Lily smiled as she stepped through the bedroom door to grab her purse.
“Thank you.” Natalie politely returned the smile.
“Are you sure you don’t want to borrow any of my make-up?” her roommate asked for what seemed like the tenth time in an hour.
Natalie playfully rolled her brown eyes. “No, Lily.” She decided not to wear makeup today, other than a dab of concealer here and there, but that was only because she really needed it. She did not, however, need to apply eyeliner and mascara, as many of her sorority sisters seemed to.
