I stare a Judy in silence for a couple seconds, neither one of us knowing what to say. My dad decides to talk.
"Hanna, I know this is all weird for you but just hear me through, when you were gone I came home to find that Judy here was sitting outside of our house, she sees me
and she talks to me and I'm amazed.Hanna she says theres a whole community of people like me, other ghosts." he looks at me exitement radiating off of him like a waterfall. I turn and look at the stranger.
"Are there actualy more people like you?" I ask. She smiles at me and wispers through cracked lips the single most shocking word "billions".
I am over whelmed, I sit in down on the damp grass, no longer trusting my legs. Judy sits down and starts telling me all about the community of the dead.
"Where do they all go, why cant I see them?" I lean back on my elbows sinking into the dirt.
"You can see them just fine, but mistake them for regular people. The magority of them though, all group together, normaly in abandoned buildings." I get curious
"How do you know all of this? My dad didnt know." her face turns sorrowful
"Unlike your father there was nobody that could see me, I freaked out once my own daughter walked through me. Like I was... nothing. I ran away and hid, untill Kimber found me. She interduced me to the world of spirits, told me everything I know." she sighed heavly.
I have so many questions its burning my throut.
"How did you find me?" that was number one on my list.
"Christian actualy, he told me. He didnt look at me, looked up at the sky and said 'Granny, I met someone who can see you, a girl named Hanna' not to offend you my dear, but he was just joking around, dosent actualy belive. I thought I'd give it a shot and come to find you.". that dampend my spirits, of course Christian didnt belive me, I couldnt expect him to. But Judy reminded me of something.
"Christian said he heard you speak to him?" I say questioning the truth behind his words.
"Ah, yes." she breaths, "that was early on, when I'd only been seperated from my body recently. I could tell he was. Struggling, and I couldnt let him do it alone, I spoke over and over to him and somehow it got through." her eyes look watery, thinking about the past. I decide to change the subject.
"Why can I touch, hear, see, you guys and no one else can?" this I was aching to learn.
"This is why am here." she clasps her hands together ready to get to the point.
"What do you mean?" I look over and see my dad, whos been silent this whole time stiffen, his face worriful.
I turn back to Judy.
"Hanna you have a rare kind of... malnormality, that causes you to see the dead. We spirits have a special name for you, resolvers. Your purpose is to help us move on."
"What the-" she cuts me off.
"The reason that were all here is because we have problems that were never fixed when we were alive. With your help you can resolve the problems that bound us here, you can free us all!"
I jump to my feet "No" I shout backing away from her. "you said theres other people who can help you, I cant help you!"
"Theres only about ten of you on the planet, Hanna." she sounds pleading now, almost begging.
"But Hanna," my dads on his feet now, "you can help thousands of people. Its your destiny" I stare at him in shock. My destiny? They dont choose my future, I do. I'm not bound to save people. Thats not fair.
I turn away from their worried faces and start to run. I dont know where I'm going I just know I have to get away.
