"Hey dad, Im home" I yell through the house, slipping off my green sneakers. Where are they?
I walk into my kitchen feeling snacky. I open the fridge and relize its empty, next I open the cupboard. Cheerios, stroodles and one lonely can of tomatoe soup.
"Yummy" I say sarcasticly to myself opening the drawer. I take out a pen and some random paper and quickly write a note.
Dad, I went out for food be back soon. love you
Under the note I drew a little heart with an arrow through it to prove myself.
Slidding my shoes back on I empty my satchel and put sling it on my shoulder. I always take it with me when I go to "buy" something.
I walk down to the convently placed shopping mall a couple blocks away. My favorite place to go when I didnt want to be home.
Sitting on one of the benches people watching, I'd give each person their own unique backstory. That guy has five children all with the first letter of their names starting with J, or that girl has a boyfriend with an extra toe. I dont need to much to make me happy, but I never was truely happy. Just fake happiness to trick myself into thinking I'm tottaly fine, when I'm actualy I'm a wreck.
But I dont need to know that
I walk into the gocery store on the other side of the street. Looking around my mouth starts to water. So much FOOD!
I walk through the isles looking at my choices. I slip some granola bars, microwave mini pizzas, chocolate milk, and apples into my bag feeling the self hatred weighing on my shoulders.
"Hey Hanna" I hear a femiliar voice after leaving the store. I turn to see Macenzie and her minions walk towards me coffees in hand.
Macenzie and her gang are the mean girls of my highschool. Eccept I'm not teaming up with a fat kid and an emo girl to join them. I try to stay as far away from that crowd as possible.
"How are you doing?" she says bending towards my face. I'm kinda short...
"uh, I'm okay." I study her face curious about what she wants. The other girls all giggle behind her.
"We were curious," she looks back at her friends "does your daddy know you steal?" she laughs a horrible chackle.
"I-I dont know what your talking about" how could she know that?
"I have my ways Hanna" she says reading my thoughts. on that note she turns around with a flick of her hair and walks away.
I walk home fast, continuesly looking over my shoulder checking for stalkers.
That encounter left me feeling violated. How could she possibly have known that about me, too creepy.
The weight of my heavy satchel makes me feel like crying.
I turn the corner onto my street and see my dad sitting in the steps of our porch.
"Dad?" I look at him curious. When he sees me his face lights up.
"Hanna!" he jumps to his feet
"Theres someone you have to meet" he leads me around to our little backyard. There sat an old woman in a pink floral dress.
"My daughter" my father bows towards the woman.
"Thank you Rick." Wait what? Did she just talk to my dad? I stare at the woman in shock.
"Hello Hanna my name is Judy, I'm Christians grandmother."
