Chapter Five: Under Control

24 Al'Karas and 26 Mel'Gorians are selected for the team. They will be lead by Mel'Gorian Captain Dion. He served five times in the Space Command. He was captain of the bridge of Hye'Tar, the largest and most powerful battleship of the United Races. He was the perfect choice for the position.

They were training. Even though they are a part of a research team, they still trained on firing their weapons and strengthening their agility and stamina. And of course, they also trained on sharpening their unique powers of telepathy and telekinesis.

An Al'Karas runner from the space station Uberion overseeing the state of Kerulian was sent to the Magistrate Hollander. He reported something, horrible. The Magistrate quickly came to the Collection.

"My Queen, My Prince!" he exclaimed, tired from running. "Something will happen."

"What is it, magistrate?"

"Kerulian will send a powerful coronal mass ejection straight to Erdi. It might ruin its flora and fauna. It may destabilize the connection of the floating homes. It will also remove ozone in the atmosphere. What should we do."

There was a silence. Then, Prince Tyson spoke..

"My Queen, I suggest my people use our special ability. Let them create a powerful psionic shield around Erdi to protect it." the Prince told Ulethia.

"That is a good idea. But, it might strain your people, Tyson." the Queen answered the Prince.

"We'll do whatever it takes to protect our allies. I'll join my people."

"Then, I accept. The Mel'Gorians will create a psionic shield around our planet to protect everything and everyone."

Prince Tyson asked Magistrate Hollander, "When will Kerulian send the CME?"

"Tomorrow, Your Highness. Tomorrow when Kerulian rises on the surface." he answered.

"Very well. We prepare before dawn tomorrow."

Tomorrow came. Mel'Gorians were already there before dawn came. Some Mel'Gorians were on Erdi, some were on spacecrafts on Erdi's atmosphere. Two minutes before the sun rose up, every Mel'Gorian on Erdi visualized a shield in their mind. They raised their hand, and an invisible shield was created. It was 1,000 kilometers away from the atmosphere.

Then, three, two, one. Kerulian fired the CME. Just when the abandoned Uberion blocked its path, it destroyed it. Some of the CME that destroyed Uberion dissipated, leaving the remaining CME smaller than before, but it is still powerful. It struck the shield. The CME vanished, but the shield remained solid. Erdi is saved.

"Thank you, Mel'Goria! We will not forget this act of bravery!" said an Al'Karas.

"You are our savior!" said another Al'Karas.

Finally, Queen Ulethia spoke, "Today, we are saved by our valiant allies, Mel'Goria! They saved us today, and someday, we shall return the favor."

"Your people saved us before," Prince Tyson said. "You made our planet what it is today. We never forgot that deed. And now, we repaid our debt."

Everyone remembered the deed made by Mel'Goria that day.

After a year, the team is ready for their expedition to Earth.

The United Races is discussing about the state of their star.

"Kerulian is becoming very unstable, Your Highness, Your Magesty." Magistrate Hollander told the Collection.

"We need to act if we are to survive. We need that unobtainium now!" said a member of the meeting.

"We-" Prince Tyson was cut when someone entered the meeting room.

"The team is ready, Your Magesty, Your Highness."

After a long preparation, the team was sent to Earth to study it. They launched from Kihla at noon. They were fast, and will reach the Solar System in 1.5 years.

As they left, however, they saw a massive body being constructed. It was at the edge of the planetary system. They don't have a single clue on what was that thing.
