The most annoying thing in the world is the beeping of the alarm clock that wakes you from your slumber in the morning. That's what was happening to me this very moment. Groaning, I force myself out of bed, hitting the snooze button as I do. My bare feet annoyed from the feeling of the carpet. I find the bedroom light switch in the dark and flip it on.
I squeeze my eyes shut, waiting for them to adjust to the brightness of the room. A yawn takes over my body, making me stretch. I could lay back down and almost immediately pass out again if I really wanted to. Only one more week of school, I could do this. After I could see normally, I walk over to my phone to check it, even though I never had any messages this early in the morning. Just like every other morning, my phone was blank.
I continued with my morning by heading to the bathroom to take my quick shower, making sure my bedroom door was locked before getting undressed. Me turning on the shower was a signal to my mom that I was awake and she didn't have to come bug me to get out of bed. I had to make my morning showers quick, otherwise I would stand in the water until it got cold; which wouldn't be about an hour or so later. We had an amazing water heater. About ten minuets later, I was turning the water off and heading to my bedroom to get dressed.
I glanced at my alarm clock as I walked out of the bathroom, calculating how much time I had left to be at school. Exactly fifty minuets. Perfect time to get dressed, dry and do my hair, and put my make up on. I walk to my closet in my towel and find one of my normal, simple outfits. A t-shirt, black with the band Kiss on it; I got it from the concert of theirs I went to. I then headed to my dresser to find my underwear and black skinny jeans.
Fast forward in time to when I'm ready, and here's what I looked like. Simple makeup, black eyeliner and mascara. My dark brown hair spiked up a little, since in was short similar to a pixie cut. I glance at the clock realizing I had five minuets left. I grab my phone and my one strap bag, making sure I had my car keys, before heading downstairs. I walk into the kitchen to cook myself a ham and cheese hot pocket to eat on the way to school. My mom was sitting up the counter reading the newspaper and drinking her black coffee like she did every morning. She spoke to me as I got my food and put it in the microwave.
"Good morning." She states bluntly. I swear it was the same conversation every morning.
"Morning." I respond, hoping the minute on the microwave would go by quick. I wanted to get to school and see my friends before class. It was Monday, so we had an extra hour because it was late start.
"I'll be home late again. Can you make yourself dinner? And I'll have money on the counter if you want a pizza or something."
"I'll be fine. I always am." I state to her as the timer goes off. I open the small door, grab my food and head to the fridge to grab my bottle of water.
"Have fun at school." She says, not looking up from her newspaper.
"Thanks. Bye." With that, I was out of the door, heading towards my car.
I made it to the school not long after. Since it was late start Monday, finding parking close to the building was easy. I grab my bag and off of the passenger seat and step out of my 1993 blue Nissan Pathfinder, and lock the doors before walking towards the front doors. Straight through the front doors was an indoor courtyard. I cut through the middle of it and head for the lunchroom to my normal table. I throw my hot pocket garbage as I pass by a garbage can.
