"Michiko" Akashi called. I was still busy munching the apple in my hand in the corner of the gym. It was quite impossible to catch my attention whenever I eat apples. Akashi looked at Kuroko telling him to pick me up from the corner. Our practice is about to start and I was the only one holding them back.
"Michiko." suddenly Kuroko was calling me. A normal girl would shriek and have a heart attack of his sudden appearance. But I'm quite different. I don't show much expression instead I just looked at him still chewing the apple. "Captain says our practice is about to start." He continued squatting next to me. "I don't feel the need to practice with you." I mumbled still chewing the apple. "This is your last game and as far as I can see, you can make it on your own." I continued staring at him.
"There, now, Michiko-chi. We'd feel broken hearted if you refuse to play on our last practice." Kise pleaded standing on my left side. I took a bite as I stare at him. "Don't call me that. It's embarrassing." I spoke. I was still waiting for him to convince me more. "She wants to be convinced." Midorima informed holding his lucky item which is a pig. Piggy Bank to be more precise. "I have an idea." Kise cried and squatted beside me. "I'll convince Kuroko to get a picture with you at the end of our game tomorrow." He whispered and I paused for a while not looking at him. I mean, after all, I really like Kuroko. It's just that it never came to my mind to confess to him.
I stood up and headed straight to the court where Akashi was standing. "Seems like it was too convincing huh." Midorima spoke as he adjusted his glasses. "Midori-chi, it's obvious what she really wants." Kise said as he looked at Kuroko who doesn't seem to get the slightest idea of what they are talking about.
The championship ended and it was an obvious victory. Everyone was rooting for Teiko high since they were the most invincible team in basketball. I walked beside Kise and stared at him. He was still clueless on what I wanted to say. Midorima walked close to him and said "She's waiting for your promise." and he left the locker room. "Of course, Michiko-chi. How could I forget?" Kise laughed but I continued to look at him.
We were already outside the arena when Kise shouted "Kuro-chi!!!". Kuroko stopped and faced our way. "Let's give Michiko a souvenir since she easily forgets our faces." Kise shouted putting his arm around Kuroko's shoulder. "Mhm!" He nodded.
We stood beside each other. I guess this is the first time my heart raced I felt like my heart was going to explode. "Kuro-chi! Put your arm around Michiko-chi." Kise suggested and without a doubt Kuroko obeyed him. I felt like my face was as red as an apple. "It's surprising that you two look good together." Akashi spoke crossing his arms beside Kise who's going to take our picture. "Kuroko, why don't you stand closer to Michiko and draw your face closer to her?" Akashi suggested and we both blushed. And CLICK!!
After that, we never saw each other. They send me text messages but it takes days before I give them a reply. I transferred to another town which makes it really impossible for us to hangout anymore.
At night, I browse my notebook and stare at their photos. I wouldn't want to forget them not a single one of them. On the first page was Kuroko and my picture. It showed how embarrassed we both feel. We looked like a real couple.
