tyler trudged down the hallway, his head hanging like always. "freak," someone taunted as they walked passed.

tyler nodded in agreement, but kept quiet. he wouldn't speak. ever since the accident a few years ago, tyler gave up his voice. he didn't like to hear his own words. he was too insecure.

"fag!" someone screeched as they nudged him in the shoulder. tyler gave a wide smile in return, shaking his head in disbelief. 'they think they're hurting me,' he thought. 'i already know this.'

tyler sighed as he swept into his next class, taking a seat in his normal chair. all the way in the back; it was a good place for him to read and keep to himself.

he looked up from his shoes for the first time that day and looked up at the boy at the front of the class. his hair was red. it was nicely dyed and fixed.

"this is joshua dun everyone," mrs. hemmings introduced. "take a seat wherever you want, josh."

josh looked around before making his way to the back of the class. 'please don't sit next to me, please don't sit next to me..' tyler thought.

josh disobeyed tyler's thoughts and say beside him.

"hi." he smiled warmly. "i'm josh."
