Tom was proud of himself. He felt that he did a good job in order to get the message across to Bella. All he'd have to do was wait.

However when Tom went back to his hotel room shortly after noon, he saw Andre still lying on his bed on his laptop. This time, though, he had put some effort into his appearance, which was an improvement. Right when Andre saw Tom he slammed his laptop screen shut.

"Hey." Andre said. Something was off.

"What were you doing on your laptop?" Tom immediately asked, walking over to sit on his bed.

"Nothing." Andre replied quickly. Too quickly.

Tom reached over and snatched the laptop. Andre didn't fight back, he just sighed. Tom opened the laptop and could see that Andre was searching airlines.

"What are you doing?" Tom asked.

Andre sighed again. "I was trying to find a flight to Washington."

Tom exhaled heavily. "You know what happens if you go see Bella before our trip is over? You get in big trouble with the team. You're going to be benched. And who knows if she'll even want to see you?" Tom asked, closing the airport window on the laptop. Andre stayed silent.

"I talked to Bella." Tom mentioned.

Andre immediately perked up. "About what? What'd she say?"

"I just told her she owes you something, she can't leave you hanging." Tom explained.

Andre sighed. "So you think it's a bad idea if I fly back to her?"

Tom shook his head. "It's a terrible idea, Andre. You don't owe her anything. And you'll just get in trouble, big trouble. So get it in your head, you can't go flying back for her."

Andre sighed, closing his laptop screen. "What else did she say?" he asked.

Tom handed Andre his phone so that he could read the conversation. When Andre was done, he made a face. "Am I making a mistake?" he asked. "Spending this much time on her when this is how she's acting?"

Tom shrugged. "One thing I've learned about love is that you can't give up on it. If she really means this much to you... you can't just let her go this easily. Even though she's being like this."

Andre sighed, looking down. "So what do I do?" he asked his friend.

"Wait. I guess that's all you can do." Tom said, and Andre's mind started wandering. He didn't really think Bella would text him again. "Give her time. She'll knock the sense back into her, and realize what she's giving up." Tom finished.

Andre was extremely grateful for his best friend. "Thanks Tom." he half smiled.

"No problem, buddy."
