Chapter nine - pain

It seemed like hours before Namjoon was notified of any news. He was so worried. They had been sleeping soundly when he was woken up by cries of pain and sadness. At first he had thought that Jin had just had a nightmare but he could soon see it was much more than that. Jin had been writhing in pain, it was a horrible site to see and it had broken Namjoon's heart. Eventually a nurse came out and took him to Jin's room. Jin was asleep on the pillows, he had a heart monitor attached to him and its silent beeping was the only sound in the room. Jin looked so peaceful but there was an element of unhappiness upon his face. Namjoon turned to the nurse, "is he okay?" The nurse looked down at the floor, "The doctor would like to talk to you before Mr Kim wakes up, and then the two of you together. Please follow me." She lead Namjoon into an office and the doctor greeted him. "Ah hello, you must be Namjoon. I need to speak to you about Mr Kim Seokjin. You see it seems he has contracted some type of heart disease. I unfortunately do not know the full details however I do know that it is bad. My estimate is that he will have only a year, maybe two left. It is beause of the pressure his body puts on the heart, through stress as well as physical activity. I am very sorry to tell you this, i thought it would have been better you tell Seokjin instead of me. I advise him to make a bucket list of things he wants do before well... anyway i am very sorry Mr. Kim." Namjoon was silent throughout this, he felt like he wanted to cry. However he had to be strong for Jin. He trailed into Jin's room, each step felt as if he was being weighed down with lead. Jin was awake when Namjoon arrived in the room. Jin's face lit up in a smile and he looked happy, but Namjoon had to destroy that. Namjoon sat down on the edge of the bed and told Jin. He explained everything, training his eyes on the floor instead of at Jin. When he finally finished he looked up at Jin. His lips were pursed and he looked deep in thought. Jin sent a small smile Namjoon's way, "Well then it seems that i have to make a bucket list. Will you come with me Joonie? I mean school is over now so why not?" Namjoon nodded, "Of course I will come with you Jinnie, i'd go with you anywhere. I ... i love y you." Jin's eyes widened and he began to smile. "I love you too Joonie, now lets get my medicine and get home to book a holiday or something." The two boys got up and collected their stuff. Once Jin was in the car he took a deep breath and swallowed his sadness. "Hey Joonie! We should do a lot of stuff! I have a lot of money packed away so we could do all sorts of things, like go swimming with dolphins!" Namjoon laughed and chimed in. "We could fly to a volcano!"
"Learn to surf!"
"Visit a world wonder!"
"We could get married!" Jin laughed finally, then he stopped. The whole car went silent!
