This a Percy Jackson OOC one shot for Valentines Day so, um...yeah...
Annabeth had had a crush on Percy for ages. Unlike some people, who deny that they like their best friend, she knew it. In fact, no matter how much she tried to hide it, their friends knew too. Hell, the whole school knew it (apart from Percy, of course).
Valentines Day was coming up. But Annabeth wasn't going to do anything as she was sure Percy liked Piper, her girl best friend. Numerous times she'd caught them whispering and hugging, but they'd jump apart as soon as anyone came near.
On Valentines Day, Annabeth got a text from Percy.
"Please come over. I really need your help. It's important!!" It said.
Annabeth smiled but quickly suppressed it. She didn't want to get her hopes up. She decided to dress up a little fancy just in case. (above)
When she got there, Percy was staring at his phone, looking adorably confused.
"What do you need help with?" she asked.
"Um..."he looked incredibly nervous" I don't know how to write a love note."
Annabeth almost cried she was so disappointed, but then realised she couldn't in front of Percy.
"What have you got so far?" she sighed.
"Well," Percy blushed,""I care about you deeply. Being with you in any way makes me happy. I can't deny that I've developed romantic feelings for you and I want to be your boyfriend. I love being your best friend and I just needed to let you know."
"Percy, that was beautiful!" she replied, "Anyway, you and Piper, huh?"
The disappointment was real.
"What?" Percy replied.
"No."
By now, Percy was sweating.
"I, um, like you a lot. As in more than a friend, but if you don't want to date me then that's fine too. I mean..." Percy started rambling before Annabeth cut him off by pressing her lips against his.
As she smiled into the kiss, Annabeth realised she was truly happy.
