Zaydens pov
I couldnt help but sigh deeply as the concrete dug into my butt, cuffs digging into my wrists. I roll my eyes as my brother swears at them, throwing our name around. "Aiden, chill." I mumble as he falls back, his ass hitting the curb beside me.
Aiden pouts as he rights himself, out of breath and steam. Finally. "We're here because you decided to run the red light. We were golden!" He huffs as we watch the two officers walk to their cars. No doubt, trying to contact our aunt or our cousin. I doubt Tonys number is listed in any of our records.
I lean on Aiden heavily, still fairly drunk. "Tomorrow is going to suck. Our aunt is gonna kill us." I groan at the thought of her guilt trip, or how shed make us make it up to her. "At least mom was adopted." Aiden mumbles.
We watch the cops at their car in silence for a few more minutes before the come marching up to us. "We're holding you tonight for driving under the influence, underage drinking, and public intoxication." The older man grunts out as their ham hands yank us up by our shoulders.
"Blah, blah, blah. We know the drill." I huff as we get shoved in the back, out heads barely missing the frame. I sit myself at an angle to get as comfortable as possible, which barely helps. "Still hate the seats." Aiden complains and the older cop scoffs as he slames the door.
-------------!!!!---------I easily ignored Aidens head on my shoulder as I glare at the desk before me, my head feeling ready to split in half and nausea settled in my bones. Hangovers suck so much. We were, shockingly, waiting on Tony Stark to come get us. Apparently he was on our paperwork and has actual custody of us which is shocking since last time we saw him was two years ago on our birthday for ten minutes.
I try to ignore my bruising hangover, adjusting the shades on my face. Small wins. But that movement wakes up Aiden who groans in pain before letting out a tinnier pained noise when his own groan probably flared up his hangover. "I can't believe he's had us waiting this long. Asshole." Aiden mumbles softly and I shrug.
"Are you shocked?"
"Not at all. Remember when he got drunk at our 7th birthday party and threw up all over the cake after groping our neighbors boob? I wish he was this late then."
"Think hes the reason mom was like that?" Aiden questioned softly adjusting his dark shades. "You think he broke her?" I guess I could see it. At least, partly.
"No. It had to be more then that I mean. .." I sigh and shake my head. "She wasn't even broken, Aiden, she was shattered. Gone. Tony probably didnt help but there has to be more to it." I inform Aiden thoughtfully.
He hums thoughtfully and we sit in silence for a long moment. "Why do you think she did it? I can't believe we saw her...her.." Aiden chokes up and I choose to pretend its apart of the hangover. My blood boils under my skin and I tense. "How could we begin to know? We never knew her." I reply cautiously, trying to keep my anger in check.
How could she be so selfish?
She didn't even go anywhere else so we were the only people who would've found her.
"We knew our mother, Zay, we were around her our whole lives." Aiden said stubbornly. "And what do we know about her? Not a damn thing. How is knowing a person simplified to knowing a face? We know what she looks sounds and smells like but we dont know her. We dont know her personally. She didn't talk to us or connect with us or bond or anything. Aiden we raised each other." I sigh.
Before Aiden could reply, the doors to the waiting room opened and in came in Tony Stark. We roll our eyes, grabbing our person bagged items and rushing over to him, ready to go home.
I need medicine, food, water, and actual rest stat. There is no way anyone can be comfortable in those cells.
"You really do look like 50 shades of douche." I scoff and Aiden chuckles. Tony rolls his eyes and claps sarcastically. "Hardy har har, good one." Tony looks us over again when he sees us wince at the loud noise.
"What?" Aiden pulled at his shirt awkwardly. "Its been a while, I never imagined you two this big. Anyway, cars out front, let's blow this popsicle stand."
Aiden grabs my hand as we walk out the doors and flashes and questions being flung at us, causing my hangover to attack with a vicious unrelenting pain. I could feel bodies press against us as Tony held our heads down and deflected the never ending questions with ease. He hurries, helping us into the car and then saying a few words to the sea of people with cameras. He then hops in the front and looks at us. "Paparazzi, gotta love them." Tony jokes. I roll my eyes and Aiden sighs. "Yay." he murmers sarcastically.
Is this real life?
