Numb Soulmate AU

So, in this AU, everyone in the world was with an uncomfortable numbness that cause them to feel nothing. I don't mean feel as in emotionally, I mean physical. Their nerves are completely useless until they touch their soulmate for the first time do they feel something. Now that I got the small summary of it done, I'll go more into detail. 

I already went over the fact that they feel nothing until they touch their soulmate, but I want to share be pros and cons of it now. One of the cute this about this is that they, as in the characters, won't realize that is their soulmate until they are about to touch something for the first time in their lives. Their reaction, however, is up to you.

 You may be thinking, 'What if they never touch their soulmate?'  Or, 'What happeneds if they never meet their soulmate?'  I'm going to answer that question right now. Whenever they get near their soulmate, they get this craving for them as if they were a drug. They'll try their best to touch their soulmate in anyway possible, whether it's shaking their hand or falling on top of them. But now just remember, the characters aren't aware that they are being pulled in, their body just reaction on its own, like it have their whole life. I know this my sound confusing, but they have never felt anything. If you were put in that situation, and was given the knowledge at birth that if you touch a certain someone, you'll be able to feel like you can't ever imagine. 

So basically, everyone is constantly plotting little schemes to touch as may people as they can so they can lower their variety. I know it sounds pervy, but it's actually not. By touch I mean like brushing them in the shoulder, or patting them on the shoulder, hell, even slapping them across the face would work. If you are doing this with a gay couple, maybe you could have one of them, Person A, believing that they are straight so they go around helping and talking to chicks, but then he bumps into Person B and starts to feel something, them Person A's like 'Well shit...' Or you know you could do that the opposite way, a gay person actually straight or bi or whatever. 

Oh right! Now I gotta talk about what happens after they meet. So once they meet, everything one soulmate feels, the other soulmate feels as well. So if Person A gets scratched by a cat, both of them feel the pain from it. This is a very interesting and important factor about this AU. 

If one of the soulmates is killed, the other with not die along with them, but instead the second their soulmate dies they go back to feeling nothing. I know it seems really sad, and to be honest it is, but hopefully that won't happen.
