My mother Reese is having a family dinner right before tonight's party.I swear if rich people couldn't be more inconvenient.

Her husband Daniel Vanderbilt is the rudest snarkiest man I've ever met.He must have a huge cock.

Josh is nothing like him though.He always sees the better side of things.Hes always saying how he rather be happy than dwell and rehash details on the past.

Mom insisted that I bring Caden to the dinner so we can all get to know each other better as a family.Mom expects me to marry Caden as soon as we are adults because of the only thing she actually cares about; MONEY.

But being in a relationship where nobody loves each other is just as painful as being in a abusive one.I love having sex with Caden,he's amazing and freakish but he doesn't love me.

No Caden is a horrible person but that's not what everyone else sees.They see a perfectly wealthy—all American—white man who has their shit together.

Caden's is only seen as this great guy for me because nobody gives a shit how I feel.Sure I thought he was great at first with his blond short cropped hair and button nose and billionaire smile but all that disappeared when I saw the asshole that he was.

"Caden how's the enterprise" my mom asks him while digging into her caviar.

I don't know how she eats that crap it's fish eggs for fucks sake.

Caden's father is the CEO of Costco the largest American membership-only warehouse club. Basically a fucking huge store you can buy anything from.

"It's manageable" Caden answers proudly as if he ran the company himself.

She continues to talk to Caden until she's done with her caviar.When she starts in her ribs she made her way to her step-son.

At this point I wasn't even eating.No matter how excellent the maid cooking skills are  I forbid myself from eating this.I rather have a Big Mac and a twenty piece with large fries.

"So josh how was your first day at Brooke Haven" She asks uninterested but in obligation.

Her husband just beeping and booping away on his phone as his taps the buttons on his smartphone.

"Could've been better" he gives her a nasty yet friendly look to calm the tone.

"You have a status I presume?"

Those are the only words Daniel has said tonight and that's all he cares about?!

"Of course Father" josh responds crossing his arms around his chest.

Daniel nods and went back to tapping buttons on his phone.

Mom faces me and asked if I got along with my brother school today.

The hell type question is that?! I'm not in elementary! And I couldn't even answer the damn question because my boyfriend must do all the talking for me.I just want to smack him over the head sometimes.

"He's not my brother" are the only words I got out before Caden budged in "She was with me Reese there's no need to worry" he assures her.

Even Josh had the decent to roll his eyes meanwhile my mother gawked over his billion dollar smile.

Since I didn't chose to listen to my mother and get along with my "brother" as she calls him.She is making me take Josh to the clinic to get his chemo for his leukemia.

He's been a cancer survivor his entire life.I haven't met someone more strong than him.

"I'm capable Reese" Josh adds.
