Saturday came faster than I thought, and before I knew it Tom was knocking on my door.
I ran downstairs whilst attempting to finish back combing my hair, look myself in the mirror quickly to check my clothes were ok, even though I was basically wearing a Black Veil Brides shirt, a red and black checkered shirt, black jeans and black converse, and calmly walked to the front door.
"Hey, you look great, Cath!" Tom greeted me with a smile.
"Wow, thanks, you coming?" I said as I started down the path.
"Yep!" He shouted, letting me lead the way to Damians old truck.
It was a quiet 30 minute drive to the beach, with the occasional squeal from Amelia whenever she saw a pigeon, as a result of some game she was playing with Damian, and I didnt want to be the one breaking the silence so I just stared out the window.
"Andddddd we're here." Damian spoke as he parked the truck.
"Well thank God!" Tom shouted as he got out and walked round to my door.
Gentleman.
"Damian! Thought you weren't gonna come!" A small girl shouted as she ran up to us. She was really pretty, with blonde, dip-dyed ginger, hair in a loose fishtail plait with a straight full fringe that framed her pale face nicely, she wore a maroon coloured jumper and light blue jeans with matching maroon vans.
"What, and miss all the fun?!" He shouted back as she came to stand between him and Amelia, who was already staring at her.
Oh, if looks could kill.
"Fair enough, come on then!" She said with a giggle as she pulled Damian lightly by the arm towards the steps that led down to the beach.
"Calm down Amelia, she's probably his cousin or some shit." I whispered to Amelia, with a slight smirk.
"Don't give a shit, paws off bitch." She replied without a hint of amusement.
We sat round a camp fire with marshmallows, singing random songs and telling each other crappy jokes. It was like an american movie.
"Psst Cath?" Tom whispered as Damian tried to do an air guitar solo.
"Yeah?"
"Come for a walk?"
"Erm, sure."
We walked for a minute or so in silence, until we found a large rock just left from the pier. Tom sat down and patted the space next to him with a smile on his face.
"Its a beautiful night." He said as he stared out at the scene infront of us.
"Yeah, shame its so cold!" I agreed, adding a little dramatic shiver to empthasise my point.
"Wow, here." He took off his black jacket and set it gently on my shoulders.
"Thanks." I said with a smile, he was so sweet, bless him.
"Erm, Cath?"
"Yeah?"
"Look, I know we barely know each other but I like you ok, like really like you and well if you're not too busy or anything, you should probably be my girlfriend..." He blurts out as, making him sound like he's about 8.
"Oh... Well, I don't know to be honest, I think it's probably best if we get to know each other a little, dont you think?..."
Ah, fuck, that was a bit harsh Cath.
"Yeah, yeah you're right... But I mean it Cath, you're a beautiful, amazing girl and well I really do like you." He turned round to face me now and took my hand in both of his, making me go bright red.
"Truth is, I like you too but I-" He interupted me by suddenly grabbing my head and pulling me towards him, planting a gentle kiss on my lips.
"Cath!" I hear Amelias voice.
"Fucks sake," I whisper to Tom as he chuckles quietly, "The fuck do you want?" I shouted to Amelia, as I turned round to see her sprinting our way.
"Damian needs to be home so we need to go if we want a lift." She said quietly, realising she'd interupted us.
"Yeah, come on." Tom said behind me as he took my hand and walked past me, pulling me with him.
Again, it was a quiet ride home, although I could feel Tom's eyes on me the whole time, but I didnt look up.
"Cath, your stop." Damian shouted as he stopped the truck outside my house.
I stepped out the truck after saying goodbye, only to hear Tom whisper to Damian, "Can you wait a minute? I need to do something." and see Damian nod silently.
I didn't wait though, I just kept walking right up to my front door.
"Cath! Cath, we need to go on a proper, one-to-one date. Right?" He said as he jogged up the path.
"Sure." I said, not looking up as I looked round for my keys.
"Friday night?" He asked hopefully. By now I'd found my key and was putting it into the key hole.
"Yeah, that'd be nice." I said, smiling, before opening the door and letting myself in. Before I closed it, I looked back to see his face lit up with a huge smile. "Night Tom."
"Goodnight Cath, sweet dreams." He replied, and started down the path again.
Wow.
