Harry’s POV

I felt myself waking up, I just didn’t want to. What the hell had I done to get a headache as bad as this one? It must have been some bad ass partying going on. The only thing is that I really can’t remember going to a party yesterday. And why was my bed so hard? It felt like I was lying on a floor rather than my soft, cosy bed. Oh well, it’s not like this is the first time I have woken up other places than my bed. Wait, was something lying on my chest? And was that something breathing? Okay, open your eyes Harry, you can do it!

I opened my eyes and had a mini heart attack as I realized a girl was resting her head on top of my chest. And not just any girl, it was Carter. All the memories came crashing back. The bank, the robbers, the hostage video, and then the man smashing his fist into my head. I’d take a hangover over that any day. I realized my head was resting at Carter’s lap, making her position rather awkward. At least I knew she was here, and that meant that she was safe, at least for now. I could see that she had been crying, but right now she looked kind of peaceful. I didn’t want to wake her up, but I had to. I needed to know what had happened after I blacked out.

“Carter...” I said in whisper, not wanting to scare her or wake her up to fast. She didn’t even move. “Carter, you there?” I said, a little louder this time. Still no response. “Carter wake up!” I yelled out loud while shaking her with my hand. Her head shot up faster than I had expected, while she screamed out: “WHAT?!” I couldn’t help it but laugh, she looked like a little girl who had just woken up from a dream she really didn’t want to wake up from. She looked puzzled for a second, then she looked down on my. “Oh my God! Your alive!” she yelled out before pulling me into a bone crushing hug. I hugged her back, waiting for her to let go. She didn’t.

“Uhm...Carter, you can let go now.” I said smiling. I didn’t really want her to let go, but she was kind of suffocating me here. “No, not gonna let go” she said while hugging me even harder. “I...can’t...breathe...” I said, still smiling though. She let go, looking me down and up like she couldn’t believe I was there. I could see a blush entering her cheeks. She quickly looked down at her hands, making her look very cute as she sat. “I’m sorry, it’s just that I thought you were dead, and you’re not.” She looked up at me giving me a breathtaking smile.

“Off course I’m not dead, I just blacked out” I said smiling at her. Her smile faded as she kept looking at me. “You’re really pale Harry, are you sure you feel alright?”. She was right, I did feel kind of dizzy, and my head hurt like hell, but other than that I felt fine. That’s when I noticed all the blood on her sweater. “What’s all that blood?! DID HE HURT YOU?! I’M GONNA FUCKING KILL THAT MAN, WHAT DID HE DO TO YOU?!” I screamed in her face as I shock her. I could not believe she wanted to know if I was okay, when it clearly was she that needed help, not me.

She looked scared at my actions for a moment before she finally answered calmly: “Harry, it’s your blood, not mine. You have a huge gash in your forehead, and it was bleeding a lot”. Wait, what? I slowly touched my forehead, noticing that she had tied something around it. Was that a tie? Maybe I was more hurt than I had first realized. She had a great amount of blood on her, and if that was all from me...I really didn’t want to think about it. “Oh.” I said as a slowly let go of her.

I pushed myself off the ground, swaying quite a lot as I stood up. Carter was quickly at my side, pushing me back down against the wall. “You need to sit there and not move a lot, you lost a lot of blood.” She said as she sat down next to me. I laughed before saying: “Now who’s playing a doctor?”. She gave me a playful shove in the side. “Just looking after you, you’re all a got down here, you know?”.  I gave her a small smile; she was all I got down here too. And I had grown quite fond of her. “Don’t worry, I’m not leaving anytime soon.” I said reassuringly. “You don’t really have a choice, we’re kind of trapped here.” she said as she let a small giggle escape her lips. It was adorable, but I pretended I didn’t notice it. She let her head fall down to my shoulder, making me smile.
