Carter’s POV

As soon as the door opened, two of the men came walking into the room. Relive filled me as I noticed that the man who had hit Harry wasn’t one of them. Don’t take me wrong, the other men were scary as hell, but they hadn’t even touched us yet. I hoped that wouldn’t change.

“Stand up and follow us” one of the men said, pointing a gun at us. Both Harry and I stood up, and I noticed that Harry was swaying a bit. I prayed to God that he wouldn’t pass out. And I don’t even believe in God, so that tells a lot. Harry seemed to be okay though, so we both did as the man had told us and followed them.

My foot still hurt, but I had somehow learned to ignore it. I soon understood where they were taking us; back to the room with the camera. They probably wanted us to make another video. I wondered why, wasn’t the last one good enough? I also wondered if the police had followed their demands. They probably had, a lot of lives were counting on it.

We entered the room and were pushed down at the chairs, just as before. One of the men quickly fastened our hands and feet with duct tape again while humming the beat to “Fireworks” by Katy Perry. It felt weird, and somehow made him more human to me. I had sort of pictures all of them like human robots in my head, with no feelings and emotion. The fact that this man apparently had good taste in music made the whole situation surreal.

I looked over at Harry. He looked paler than before, the walk over here clearly wasn’t good for him. Not that the robbers cared, they just left the room and left us there alone. “Harry, you okay?” I asked, trying to meet his eyes. “Yeah, fine” he said, not even looking at me. Something was wrong with him, it looked like he was about to pass out. The fact that we hadn’t eaten or had anything to drink in at least five hours, didn’t exactly make it any better.

The man who had hummed the song before came into the room again with the camera in his hand. He walked over to the camera rack and placed the camera on it. I knew I shouldn’t but I had to ask him: “Excuse me sir, but could you please get us some water. We haven’t had anything to drink”.

He turned to look at me, obviously shocked that I had called him sir. That was my plan though, to be polite. I could feel Harry staring at me from the side, but I kept looking at the man. He looked really unsure, and if I wasn’t mistaking, I could see a bit of remorse in his eyes. Then he walk out. At least I had tried.

“What do you think you’re doing? What if he had gotten mad and hurt you?” Harry said from the side of me with a low and husky voice. I could see that he struggled to keep his head up straight. “Harry, just look at yourself. You need water!” I said, trying to not sound irritated. He needed to understand that if he didn’t get water, then he might pass out, and that was not gonna help any of us.

He just stared at me for a moment before looking back down. “Guess you’re right” he mumbled low, more to himself than to me I think.

The door opened and I expected it to e the man who had hit Harry, but instead it was the man from before, returning with a bottle of water. He had actually listened to me. He walked over to me and opened it, holding up for me to drink. “No, give it to Harry first” I said as I looked over at him. I could see he was annoyed at my actions, but he didn’t say anything. The man nodded and walked over to Harry instead, pouring small amounts of water into Harry’s mouth. He then walked back over to me and gave me some. It felt awesome. My mouth had felt like sandpaper the last couple of hours, and even though it was just water, it was the best thing that I had ever tasted.

I was just about to say thank you, when the door opened. The man suddenly looked scared, and quickly stepped away from us. It was too late though. The man who came in was the man without a mask, and as soon as he saw the water bottle, an evil smile spread across his face.
