Harry's POV
I walked together with Carter down the long halls under the bank. I didn't want to look at her, scared that she would see the fear in my eyes. I had to be the strong one here, since I'm the male in this situation. I still held her hand though, and somehow, it made everything a whole lot better. It was like all the differences between us didn't matter anymore, I just wanted her to be okay. Most of all I wanted this thing to be over. I had no clue whet the men wanted us to do, but it was no doubt in my mind that it was something bad.
"Walk faster!" one of the men said, pushing his gun into Carter's back. I could hear a wimper escape her mouth as she stumbled for a bit, but I made sure to hold her up. What was their problem, couldn't they see that her foot was hurting? Stupid robbers.
After about two minutes of walking, we finally entered a room. As soon as I saw what was in it, I realized what they wanted us to do. I don't know why I hadn't thought about this before. Inside the room were two chairs with a camera in front of them. It also had two huge lamps, making the two chairs light up. "Sit down" the same man as before said, pushing us against the chairs. He then used duct tape to fasten our feet to the chairs and our hands behind our backs. Neither Carter or I did anything to stop them. Why would we, they had guns for god's sake!
I finally looked over to Carter's and met her eyes. God, they were so mesmerizing! Shut up, Harry! Stop thinking about her eyes! I looked away for a second before I looked back at her. She didn't look too scared, but knowing her it was just a cover. Even though I had just known her for a few hours, I felt like I knew her. Yeah, sure we had been off to a bit of a rough start, but it was all better now. The sound of a door opening made both of our faces snap against the door.
One more man came into the room, walking casualy over to us like he was on a stroll through the city. His calmness really freaked me out. He walked over to us, and to my surprise, he took of his mask. His face looked nothing like I had imagined. I had thought he would look scary and mean, instead he look like the kind of man you would expect working in a kindergarten or something. His eyes on the other hand, were like dark holes burning through you.
"Harry and Carter, how nice to finally meet you." he said, his face way to close to us. None of us answered. "Ah, so you don't want to talk. I guess I'll just tell you how this is going to go down then. That is a camera..." he pointed towards the camera like we didn't know what it was, and then began talking again; "it will be recording you, not live of course. We will hold up posters with what you have to say, and believe me, you should do what we ask. I'm not very good dealing with people who don't do what I want."
We both just nodded. We could do that. I looked over at Carter again, wondering what she was thinking about. To my surprise she opened her mouth to speak: "I want you to promise us that if we do what you want, you won't hurt us or any of the other hostages..." her voice trailed off as if she couldn't believe she had just said that. Neither could I. What was she thinking, we should just stay calm and try to not piss them off.
The man looked puzzled for a second, but then he laughed. His laughter gave me goosebumps, it was just something evil about it. "Carter, that is not something I can promise you." He said while leaning closer to her, just staring at her for what felt like forever.
One of his hands suddenly shot forward, grabbing her hair and pulling her head back. She let out a loud shriek, but his other hand was over her mouth in seconds. "I can however promise you I will take very good care of you, such a beautiful girl. I bet the two of us can have a lot of fun." he said while pushing a strain of hair behind her ears.
"Don't fucking touch her!" I said as I tried to attack him. I had completely forgotten about the duct tape, so it really was no use. He did however let go of Carter, making her head fall forward. I couldn't see her face because she was looking down at the ground, her hair cascading down her shoulders, but I could see her whole body shaking. All I wanted was to tell her that everything was going to be okay, that I wouldn't let that man hurt her. I knew that it would be an empty promise, but I wanted her to feel safe.
