"I'm going to play outside!" the nine year old informed her mom, slipping out the door.
"Okay, just be careful, and stay close," her mother warned.
"I promise," she lied. Truthfully Bailey was going to visit the strange building. The child and her family had only moved there a few weeks before, and on her way home from school they always passed that strange building.
Nobody else seemed to notice it; a tall tower of concrete in the middle of a heavily wooded area. With a barbed wire fence surrounding it, and a completely empty parking lot. That kind of place tends to draw a lot of attention, and why was it abandoned? It seemed to be in fairly good shape, it wasn't overgrown by plants, and no animals had taken residence there.
In Bailey's opinion, there was some sort of secret hidden there, a buried treasure, or maybe a portal to another dimension! Whatever she found there, Bailey knew it was going to be good. She was absolutely, 100% sure that she would discover the most amazing thing in history! She was smiling from ear to ear, at the thought of it.
Suddenly she was walking up the road towards the building. Somehow she'd managed to keep herself distracted long enough to complete a 15 minute walk, without remembering any of it. Bailey was at the gate, about to open it, when she was filled with an abrupt sense of dread. Was this really a good idea? She had "promised" her mom that she would stay close to the house.
'Too late!' Bailey thought, as she opened it.
The parking lot was like a barren desert with
tumbleweed rolling across. Only the tumbleweed was a few stray leaves, and the desert was well, cement. There were no plants except the "tumbleweed". It was empty, and to be honest, kind of sad.
Bailey made her way towards the double door, and she almost made it, when she felt a sudden pain in the back of her head. She could feel herself blacking out. Her knees buckled, and fell flat on her face

They passed through halls...
They passed through continuous corridors...
She was laying on a table...
No strapped to a table...
People were surrounding her...
They had a... a needle.
