I woke up in a large room, surrounded by chairs. In each chair was a scientist, in their very own white lab coat. They were all observing me, like they were at a menagerie.
"She seems to be interacting normally. Heart rate is normal, blood pressure also normal," murmured one of them under their breath.
'Murmured? I shouldn't have been able hear someone murmur something.'
"Wh...what did you do to me?"
"I assume the test went successfully," one whispered to another.
"Test? What test? What did you do to me?!" I yelled.
A man scratched something down on his board while saying, "Three more preparation stages left before the final phase. Send Subject 2-23 to her therapist."
'Therapist? I don't need a therapist, do I?Maybe one for mental therapy, but they wouldn't do that for me.'
I see one of the scientists bring out another needle.  I was able to let out a small for yelp before they sedated me.
----------------------------
I opened my eyes, everything was hazy.  I realized immediately that I was strapped down. They had placed me in a small white room, with hardly any furniture; an examination table, a desk, and tiny table next to my own. In front of me there there was a small window.
'Why would they put me in a room with a window?'
I heard a young woman clear her throat.  She steps in front of me, and I see that it was the same woman that had chosen me in selection.  Goosebumps went up my arms, and a shiver down my spine.  She must've seen my fear because she smirked in delight.
"Ah, Subject 2-23, I see that you have survived your first test.  Before you can continue, I must check how much you have improved."
"I-improve me? How did they 'improve' me?"
"You will see soon enough," she answered, "Now what can you see in this picture,"
'Of course it was a picture, they would never leave in a room with a window,'
I examined the poster before me.  It was dotted with small spots, but when I looked closer I realized what they were.
      "T-they're buildings."
"How many do you see?" she questioned.
My eyes glazed over the picture, "There are m-more than... uh... fifteen, I-I've forgotten how to... count."
The woman scribbled something down on her clip board. She looked up as if pondering something, then walked over to table next to me, where a phone sat. She picked up a pair of headphones and placed them over my ears. The woman grabbed the phone and clicked a small button on the side.
A loud ringing, abruptly interrupted my thoughts. The piercing sound made it impossible to think at all. I tried to protect my sensitive ears and throw the headphones off, but all I could do was cringe in pain, hardly able to move any of my limbs. The sound went on for what seemed like hours, which she probably only did to torture.
Finally, after all that pain she turned it off.
"It seems that they have done well. Subject 2-23, you are free to go," she she said gesturing for me to go away.
Just as I thought I would be let go, a person from behind my table came out with another needle. I tried to squirm free from the bindings, but two burly men came and held me down; one by my legs, another by my arms. The man with the needle was swift to get it done; pricking my skin, then injecting the liquid. I was out cold.
