Life is full of Surprises

My life is full of surprises but not all of them are pleasant ones.

My views on life are that life is just a big giant chess board.

You have to pick each move carefully otherwise you may regret them afterwards.

My game has just begun. The first surprise was that I am adopted. I was placed in foster care at 9 months of age. At 22 months I was put in the care of two wonderful people who I now call my parents. Their names are Linda and Mike Thompson. They adopted me when I was four years of age. They also adopted three of my biological siblings Joey, Selena, and Shanialin. Today I am in a family of ten, four boys and six girls, including my parents. Another wonderful surprise would be the fact that I can walk. I was born with Cerebral Palsy and my parents were told that I would never walk. Not only can I walk but I can also run. Unfortunately not all surprises are happy ones. The bad surprises are too hard for me to even think about.

In the end, I may not know what my next move will be, but what I do know is when another surprise knocks on my door, good or bad, I will open my arms and embrace it. So I hope you use my story as a guide or perhaps a lesson that yes “Life is full of Surprises” use them as guidelines to help you choose what your next move should be. Life is what you make of it so if you make a mistake, move forward. Life is too short to try to fix the past focus on the present and dream about your future.
