The song 'Just like fire' by Pink played over and over again throughout the four story house.
I sang along as I picked up my older brother's basketball shorts and smelly ass shirts.
"Noah! Elijah! Luke! Matthew! James!" I shouted over the music.
"What, Scarlet?!" They all yelled while walking into the living room that I was cleaning.
"How many times do I need to tell you to stop leaving your dirty ass clothes all over the living room?!" I yelled at each and every one of them.
"Oh, and Elijah, it's your turn to write the shopping list. Make it soon so I can go buy what we need." I looked at Elijah as I felt myself calm down a little.
"Alright, is that the only reason you called us down here?" Noah asked with an absolutely pissed expression.
He was probably sleeping just now, I forgot that he had the night shift at the police station.
"Yes. Plus!" I turned to Luke and Matthew.
"You two need to clean all four bathrooms. And James, you need to cut the trees." I told them, more of an order than a request. They didn't have a choice in the matter.
James sighed heavily before speaking.
"Why are we the only ones cleaning? Why don't you make the young ones help? And what about Carter, Owen, and Cody? They should help too!" He said in a typical annoyed-to-be-cleaning voice.
"Well, for one. Carter, Owen, and Cody are all at work, so I can't make them clean. Two, the younger ones Gabriel, Conner, Benjamin, and William are already cleaning their rooms. YOU'RE the one who's slacking off right now." I said with my usual level of sass.
James pouted a little, obviously not having a good comeback.
"Alright, you three go do what I said and Noah just go back to bed. I'm sorry for waking you up, I forgot you had the night shift last night." I said the last part with a bit of guilt growing in my stomach.
I heard Noah let out a long sigh before he spoke.
"It's fine, Scarlet. I should've had my door closed. But then again you do know me, I always have to leave it open just in case."
"I know, big brother Noah." I said with a small smile before walking over to the radio and turning the music off.
"I'm done cleaning down here, so if anyone needs me I'll be in the dance room." I said as I turned and made my way up the stairs and to the fourth floor.
This house has four floors. The first one contains 4 bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, and a game room.
The second and third floor also have four bedrooms and a bathroom.
Dad, Owen, Carter, and Cody all live on the first floor.
Gabriel, Conner, Benjamin, and William are on the second floor while Noah, Elijah, Luke, and Matthew are on the third floor.
James and I live on the fourth floor, we use two of the rooms as bedrooms and the other two are used for a dance room and a little computer/library room.
"Scarlet! Don't forget to tell the boys to pick up their toys!" I hear Luke yell after me as I climb the stairs.
I rolled my eyes.
"I already did!" I yelled back at him as I reached the top of the stairs.
Once I reached the dance room I closed the door behind me and plugged my iPod into the speakers.
I picked the song 'Grenade' by Bruno Mars and started dancing to the beat of the music.
