NONEXISTENT

Chapter 2 - Back Again

   I heard birds chirping, i saw a ray of sunshine. It was the next morning. I rubbed my eyes, i tried to stood up. I placed my hand on the table beside me, and pushed. But it went through and i fell from the couch. I was hoping it was all a dream.

   I remembered what happened last night. I looked over to the couch, my wife wasn't there. I walked to the living room. Looking at my house. I never knew i would want to touch the walls again.

   This used to be my parents house, i've never changed it ever since they died. It looks very vintage, with cream paint in all the walls and white corners. It holds alot of memories, even when i was still a child.

   My wife moved here after we married. We were planning to have a child. A handsome boy named Alex Volkrov. But i was too busy with the project. It was a waste of time, eventually i would fail anyways.

   I looked at the green clock on the living room table. It is nine in the morning. I remembered that my wife should have left for work.

   She works in a buisness company that sells electronics. She is the CEO. She is fortunate she has me, i generate ideas for her. Our life was pretty general. I looked through the windows. The neighbourhood is lively at this time of day. Our neighbour Viktor, is my personal best friend.

    But he should be out by now. There is no point inside this house. So i went infront of the door. I lift my hand to grab the handle, and stopped. I sighed. And i went through it.

   I saw my neighbours getting ready to go to their jobs. The neighbourhood is pretty crowded now. I would usually greet them. But i cant do that anymore.

   After minutes of looking around and missing the feeling of morning rush, i decided to go to my lab. I wonder how everything's going on there,  without me. My coworkers would probably cancel our meetings with other scientists around the world. All this distress was caused by my failure.

   I was standing thinking of what would happen when i heard a honk.

   "You cant just go through my lawn!"

   That loud yelling must have come from Abram.

   We all know he is always cranky every morning. But he told the truth. A car went through his lawn leaving a trail behind. And that must be Vlad.

   "Haha, well then why did you made me stop the party?"

   Yup, that's Vlad, the neighbourhood's rascal.

   I should just ignore them, like everybody else. So i went to my lab.

   When i arrived infront of the labratory. I was hoping it to look the same. But i forgot about the explosion. Turns out it destroyed half of the left wing, right where my lab is.

   The grey walls are cracked and left dark ashes cover them. It was barely recognised as a lab anymore. I saw police lines covering them. It was like a crime scene.

    I saw one of my coworkers, Garrick, he was carrying a large suitcase. What is he possibly doing? At first, i followed him, and i saw desks scattered around my lab. It was empty, is everybody resigning?

   No wait, Garrick went to the main building. It was pretty crowded there, like usual. Everyone must've went in to their work again. Im sure that everybody forgot the incident, or maybe theyr'e ignoring the troublesome past.

   I followed Garrick to the lift. He pressed the third floor. When the lift stopped, we went out. He was going to another lab. But i've never seen this part of the building. He opened a door that led us to a large room, filled with my coworkers. It seems that they were moved here.

    I never thought i would miss the sight of people on their chairs working on projects. It was very boring for me. But then Garrick made everybody stop what they're doing.

   "Guys, i finished collecting pieces of the incident", he said

   "Have you concluded what happened?", Garrick asked everybody

   "Well, kind of. Anna found out what might happen. She said that the machine exploded because it was unstable. The energy it was getting was too low, or simply, it needed more than we have", said
Felix, the most talkative one here.

   "It was just too unstable, but how could none of us expected it?", Anna replied and she sighed.

   "If only we knew.. maybe.. maybe Zenix would be here", added Kazimir. He is always blue.

   There was a long silence

   "Guys.. I need to tell you something..", everyone looked over to Nikolai, the leader, before me.

   "What is it Niko?", asked Garrick

   "I think the machine may not just exploded. After i did some research and inspecting... Maybe, just maybe, it made an almost parallel dimension to ours....", Niko explained.

   Everything stopped for a minute, and im here listening to they're discussion.

   Made a dimension? Is this where i am?

Hey fellas, so this chapters ending was kinda explained i the prologue (where Zenix knew he was in a glitch dimension), its because it has no detail. So technically the prologue is a little bit in the future. Hope you guys enjoy it! And please wait for the upcoming chapter, Chapter 3 - Glitch (^o^)
