Chapter 1

DAVINA'S POV

"Hey Hadley, what are you doing this weekend?" I say to my best friend as I sit in my assigned seat next to her in class.

We have been friends for as long as I can remember, and honestly she is kind of my only friend. I mean, sure I'm "friends" with everyone because I am pretty well known around school, but I don't really trust anyone like I do Hadley. Now, I wouldn't consider myself the "popular mean girl", because I hate those kind of girls. I'm just me, and people know me.

"Well you know me, probably nothing. Oh! Hey, my parents are going out of town and I have the house to myself! Partyyyy!" She giggled as she did a little dance in her seat.

I laughed at her little leprechaun jig and then groaned, "Had, you know parties just aren't my thing." She groaned back, "Come on, Vina! You've never even been to one!"

I ponder the thought, well I guess I haven't? I sigh, "Fine, maybe. No promises!" She claps her hands as she gives me a wide smile. "Ahh, yay!" I playfully roll my eyes.

As I was about to say something back to her, our teacher walked in and made an announcement before she started class.

"Hey guys, so we will be getting a new student in the next day or so and I want you all to be nice to him because he isn't from America so he will be getting used to things. Clear?"

Everyone nods and the room starts buzzing with the murmurs of the new kid.

I turn and look at Hadley as she gives me the, 'Oohh, new boy' face. I roll my eyes and look away.

Wait, did she say he is not from America? So where is he from, China? Japan? India? Russia? Huh, guess we will find out, right?
