{unedited}"I'm sorry."
•
He looks disappointed in himself, regret washed all over his face. He could barley look me in the eye. I knew by the look of him he so desperately wanted to say something, but he didn't. He just say quietly next to me on the king sized bed not saying a word. I myself to wanted to start conversation and ask him what just actually happened, or what had gotten into him, but I stayed quiet. Other than that Alex was a topic that never left my mind. He had the persona that have you chills, not the good kind. I would ask Harry about him but I had a small fear of him lashing out again and repeating the events that happened near minuets ago.
"I'm sorry." He spoke up, his voice sad and broke. He finally looked up and looked me in the eyes. Sure he could be sorry, but I don't know wether or not I can forgive him. He scooter closer to me on the bed but I only moved farther away. He notice and looked back down at his lap. I stayed silent before speaking up.
"Why did you do it?" I ask, my own voice being small and quiet. But still loud enough to slice through the silence that filled the air in the bedroom. I look over at him to see him already looking at me. His green eyes scanned over my face, and I did the same to him. The way he looked was as if he was still searching for a reason why too.
"I don-don't know what came over me.. I just- it's not my fault I'm like this..." He says rambling and fumbling with his words not making complete and total sense. "Wh-What was it exactly that I did?" He asks, he sounded as if he truly didn't know what he had done. Innocence was all I saw in him at the moment. His green eyes staring into my own brown ones.
"You got mad, and y-you got angry with me for disobeying you." I stopped and gulped not wanting to say the next part that reminded me of our previous events. But I did anyway. "Then you punished me." I say softly looking away from him, not wanting to be reminded.
He didn't speak after that, just another moment of silence. I felt the side of the move and looked up to see Harry walking to the door with his head hung low. I didn't bother to do anything, I just sat on the bed and watched Harry disappear down the hallway only to be left with the faint sound of his feet waking down the hall.
After a couple of minutes Harry still hasn't come back, so I decided to go look for him. I slip out of the bed and walk out the room. My small feet pad against the wooden floors of the long hallway as I walk towards the stir case. My hand grabs ahold of the railing that was slightly cover by a thin layer of dust. I descend the stairs holding onto the railing, as I walked I notice the wield feeling I had had in my lower region but I brushed it off and continued my search for Harry. I walk around the large vast area that the castle had to offer but couldn't find him. I walk back up stairs and look around the bedrooms I had never been in. I found several other bedrooms, all made nicely and looked as they haven't been touched in ages. I made my one to the one last door I haven't looked at yet. It was slightly open and I peaked through to see if Harry was inside, but I faced a stair way instead.
It was a skinny hallway that led only up. The floor was no longer the rich wooden flooring like the rest of the castle but it was a cold cement like flooring. I was barefoot at the moment and when my feet met the ground I got chills from the feet up due to how cold it was. The hall way (or stair way) was cold itself. I ascend the stairs walking up, the air getting lighter and colder the closer I get to the top. The stair way was circular spinning in an upward motion. I finally made it up to the top to be met with another door. I place my hand on the black handle and pushed it open. I instantly spot Harry, his back was toward me. He slightly jumps when he hears me open the door and walk through entering the small room. It was circle like. A rounded room, with big glass windows everywhere. The ceiling too had glass windows. It was a beautiful room, giving a whole out look of the forest.
I walk over to Harry, standing by his side, overlooking the forest. Miles of green. It was around noonish and the sun over shown the forest giving a lovely green color.
"It's beautiful."
"Yeah, I spend a lot of time in here." Harry says while hesitantly wrapping his arm around my waist. I don't say anything about it, but I let him.
We both stood in silence. Just looking out beyond the open haunted forest below us, taking in all of the scenery and what it had to offer. It was a lovely view, and I see why Harry wanted to spend time in here. It's relaxing and open.
"I'm a monster." I look at him, confused of why he would say such a thing about himself so randomly.
"No you're not-"
"Don't defend me, I am. It's just the way things are." He says, looking out at the vast evergreen trees that go for what seems like forever.
I decided to changed the subject and ask him what it's like living here. We ended up talking for hours, he never really went into full detail about him and the book. We just talked about random things to what's our favorite color to what's our favorite book.
I noticed how it had gotten so dark suddenly. It was a deep grey color that filled the air, but only close to the ground.
I stood up to get a clearer view of the forest below us. "Hey Harry, what's going on?"
He stand up and looks down. He lets out a low sigh and hugs me closer to him. "It's the fog, it comes ever year. We have to stay up hear for tonight, for our safety. It can't get inside of the castle but just for safety we can stay up hear." He tells me, lowering his head and planting a light kiss on my head.
"But why? What's it do? And why up here, it so cold?" I say rambling on bombarding him with questions. He chuckles at my questioning and curiosity.
"Because the fog can kill you, well humans at least. And we don't have to sleep up here if you don't want to, it's just safer." He says. "Now let's go feed you, you haven't eaten since breakfast."
When we get to the kitchen I simply settle for mac and cheese, not really wanted anything special. I help Harry make it, not wanting him to do so much for me.
"Who's Alex?" I ask randomly as Harry pours the noodles into the pot of the boiling water.
"He, he used to be an old friend of mine, a very very long time ago." I knew that by the way he said it wasn't the best kind of friend ship. They obviously have a past, but I won't bother to dig to deep into something that I have no business knowing about.
"He told me some stuff today." I speak, god I can't keep my mouth shut.
Harry automatically looking over at me. My words catching his attention. "And what did he say, exactly?" Harry says, obviously wanting to know what happen and what was said. His teeth grit together and jaw locked.
"Damn, I might just have to take you for myself." I repeated Alex's words, obviously not choosing the right thing to say. But that was just one of sentences that haunted me the most.
"I'm going to fucking kill him."
