I remained in my home, I hadn't gotten the guts yet to set foot outside... I held onto a cup, stroking the ring that formed it's circle like frame. A wine glass, if you will. I wondered what people would think of me, out of the Asylum, and back into humanity and it's reality. Oh, the names they called me, were humorous. The cursed one, the devils spawn.. I was called many things. I looked to old photos sprawled along the house walls, each decorated with different frames, stickers on the glass, even writing that symbolized love... the love that was there before my Father passed, and before I caused them so many problems...
Frankie was at school. I wondered how his day was. I worried honestly, people probably picking on him like when we were kids. All because of his braces... he was possibly hurt, what if he didn't eat lunch and was starving? It was all a big mess, little ideas that barely pieced together, nonetheless made sense. I bit my lip. "Maybe.. I'll get him in a little while, it's nearly 4 o'clock anyway..." I mumbled. For us, school was released at four, rather than three like most people. How unlucky. I went to slip on my shoes, placing my over shirt over my shoulders. I peaked out of the peep hole on my front door.. "No one.. okay, you can do this..." I mumbled. I was nervous of course.
I opened the door, feeling a sharp cool breeze strike my pale skin, it was warm mixed with a chill, as such for a Spring time... I began to wander out, walking straight into a crowded street. I felt a nervous feeling dwell over me, it was nerve wracking. I looked around... it was filled with jolly faces, and children running around. I gulped. "Oh god, I'm really doing this aren't I?" I questioned myself. I began to walk quickly, I could feel my social anxiety flaring. The streets were decorated, holding up arranged decorations, each symbolizing their goddess Ceres. Stands held goods and were greatly selling charms to people, even the simplest things like food, to desserts. I tried to keep from looking at anyone, I didn't want to keep having small visions arise and tell me their fates, I couldn't bare it.
It was hard though.. after all, this was a celebration to Ceres...
"Excuse me sir, would you like some freshly steamed bread? Not only is it sweet, but it's made spicy with the finest Bore meat." A clerk said to me, as he practically shoved a tray in my face.
I felt my heart race. "N-no, I'm fine Mister." I responded, he looked at me with a smile. "Ah, shy boy huh? Well look, since today is a beautiful day to honor our goddess, here's one on the house. You seem like a fine lad." he said, it was... so sudden. He placed a slice into a small bag, handing it to me. "T-..thank you." I responded, I felt... special. It was weird for someone to be nice to me. "No problem kiddo, hey, have I seen you somewhere before?" he asked, as he observed me. "You look awfully familiar." he said, I shook my head. "N-no, I've never seen you before, maybe you're mistaking me for someone else." I insisted. He attempted to question me further, but I quickly ran off. "Thanks anyway Mister!" I said, leaving him in confused. He shrugged, continuing to offer his home made sweets to others.
I ran... I could feel my heart pounding, continuing to get nervous with each person who said hello, and I could feel them trying to figure me out. I ran into a small alley, it had a stair case that led downward to another road. I sighed as I lent on a wall, sliding to the floor. "I don't understand how you can do it Frankie.." I mumbled, I quickly stood up. "Wait... where am I?!" I exclaimed, looking around frantically. "Damn it, I went and got myself lost!" I yelled, people beginning to stare at me, where I quickly ran off. I just left plenty of people in confusion. I closed my eyes, gripping my head... I could see them, images of people passing away flashing in my eyes, it was torture. Every time someone came near my eyes view, I could see when they'd die, how they'd die, and why it was caused to happen to begin with.I screamed, as I realized I'd lost my footing, and tumbled down the rough road stairs. I grasped the attention of many pedestrians when I finally made it to the bottom, I rubbed my head, hearing murmurs from the small crowd that came to see if I was okay. "Ow... that's going to leave a bruise later..." I mumbled, as I looked up. "Mikael, you okay?" I heard a voice ask, as I looked up to meet eyes with Frankie. "How'd you get all the way out here huh?" he asked, as he grasped my hand, pulling me to my feet.
