Chapter 9 - Mag

After we finished picking the bosenberry leaves I was exhausted. I practically climbed every tree in the grove. I need some food, rest, and maybe a shower.

" I'm thirsty"

"Well do you see any water cause I don't" Shadow retorted

"Can we please go find some I think I'm going to die of thirst. How are you not thirsty yet anyway?"

" I am a unicorn of a higher species than you puny human so I never get thirsty "he replied haughtily

" Are you a camel or something?" I joked

"how dare you insult me that way"

"Well I'm not a camel so I'm going to go look for some water."

I walk off not seeing if Shadow is following me or not. I didn't want him to anyway; why was he being so mean? We're in this together whether he likes it or not. I need to find water and fast otherwise I might get sunstroke or something and then we wouldn't be able to continue our quest. What would happen if I failed? Eternal enslavement? I'm knocked from my thinking when I trip over a large tree root. Then I hear a faint gurgling sound in the distance. Water?.....Water! I jump to my feet and rush to the noise. In front of me is clear cold water rushing over rocks. I jump in and rub my face. I drink all the water that my stomach can hold. I dive under to get my face wet again and I see a glint....probably just a rock. Then I feel a tug. A tentacle is wrapped around my leg! It's puling me under!

"HEELLPP!!!" I scream thrashing in the water. What is pulling me under!? I glimpse a the purple tentacle around my leg attached to a huge mouth full of rows of sharp teeth. I'm going to drown! I'm losing air I'm starting to black out but just before I do I hear a pounding of hooves and an ear deafening " ZZZAAP"

I wake up what seems like hours later on Shadow's back dripping wet.

" Have you ever seen a camel do that" he says

" No, no I haven't. Thanks Shadow for saving me"

"Your welcome, also I'm sorry about before"

"Me too"

"Lets try to be friends from now on, Okay?"

"Okay"
