/Thoughts/

Atem stood next to the bed where his amethyst eyed lover sat in shock, "What happened to him?" Atem gently patted Yugi on the cheek. The youth stared unblinking past them both in complete shock. When Atem heard Yugi yell he came running into the room to see a catatonic Yugi, eyes as wide as saucers sitting on their bed.

"I just told him the good news, that's all," The doctor shrugged with a knowing smirk and a playful glint in his eyes.

Atem raised a well defined eyebrow, "Oh? What good news?" He asked, waving his hand in front of the Yugi's unblinking face.

"Congratulations, Your Highness," the doctor adjusted his spectacles.

Atem turned towards the doctor, his eyebrow arching even further up his brow, threatening to disappear completely in his mass of tri-colored hair, "For what?"

The doctor's grin stretched widely from one ear to the other, "You are going to be a father."

"I..I...I'm.....I'm what?" Atem stuttered in disbelief. He blinked at the doctor, astonished, "That would mean that...Yugi is....."

"That's right. Yugi is pregnant," the man nodded his confirmation.

"How is that possible?" Atem asked fighting to stay calm and conscious.

"The gods are mysterious. Anything can happen if and when they get involved," the doctor once again shrugged. "I wouldn't have believed it myself it I had not seen it with my own eyes."

"How far along is he?" Yami gulped; butterflies conducting a full onslaught in his stomach.

"He's seven weeks," the doctor turned and placed his stethoscope in his bag, "Take good care of him."

Atem's face turned bright pink as he tapped at Yugi's cheek, trying to get his attention. Amethyst eyes finally blinked and focused on the pharaoh.

"Are you okay, Yugi?" the baritone voice whispered; Atem traced Yugi's cheeks with his thumbs. Yugi opened his mouth to speak, only able to make gasping noises for several minutes.

"Farewell, Your Highness. Goodbye, Yugi," the doctor waved and took his leave.

"Atem," Yugi whispered. Crimson met shocked amethyst pools, "I'm....I'm..." Yugi placed his hand on his lower abdomen.

Atem smiled warmly at Yugi. He placed his hand on top of Yugi's and squeezed, "I know. That would explain why you haven't felt very well lately and how exausted you have been." Yugi gulped and nodded.

"Are you mad?" Yugi asked his large eyes tearing up.

"Why would I be mad?" Atem chuckled, "Listen Yugi, I love you more than anything in the world. With the help of the gods, our love created life. That life is an extension of our love and is part of both of us," Atem pulled Yugi into a loving embrace. His petite lover's body trembled in his arms.
