PART ONE.

Under a minute later, all the girls piled themselves into Xin's Hyundai, and left him to do his work in the flat. With Aeseul at the wheel, and Jisoo sat between Saetbyeol and Hina on a seat that didn't exist, where could you go wrong?

A lot of places, actually. It took ages to get the car to start, and every time a police car drove past, Jisoo would curl into a ball in order not to be seen, and get busted for not wearing a seatbelt.

But they got there, eventually. The popular vote was to go to the mall, heavily endorsed by Aeseul, who desperately wanted to visit her long-favourite noodle shop. Her slightly reckless driving didn't get anyone on her good side, however, when she parked jaggedly on the top storey of the mountainous parking block.

"I haven't had many chances to drive!" she insisted, while she leaned out of the window to see how close she was to the adjacent car.

"You park like my mum on Black Friday," said Saetbyeol, causing everyone but Aeseul to laugh guiltily.

"You may laugh now, but you'll be thankful when we have a smooth drive off." She stuck her head out the window to see where she was going, and subsequently got beeped at repeatedly by the car trying to get past her.

"Is it bad that I'm so freaking embarrassed," Yoojin whispered, hiding her face behind her Vetements cap.

"Nobody can see you, anyway," called Hina from the back seat, as if nobody could hear her over the noise of the car slowly reversing into a parking space.

"My legs hurt," Jisoo added.

[ FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER ]

"Since none of you know each other yet, we're gonna split into groups," said Aeseul, as they all sat in an orderly position in front of her, on a bench in the mall, sneaking glances in shop windows when she wasn't looking.

Jisoo raised her hand politely. "Actually, I kind of know Hina, we shared a room last night."

"Well, regardless of that, we're splitting into three groups —" Aeseul paused a bit, for some tension, which didn't happen. Then she resumed. "Yoojin and Saetbyeol, you'll be together."

The two of them high-fived almost on cue.

"And since you allegedly already 'know her', Jisoo and Hina, you can be together," said Aeseul, clapping her hands together dramatically. "I'll be on my own. I have things to do. Like noodles. And other things."

"What other things?" Hina asked, but the elder had already stood up, waving goodbye and strolling down the opposite side of the mall.

There was an awkward silence as everyone gazed after Aeseul, until she became a tiny purple dot, who turned a corner sharply and ran straight into another person.

"I bet she's meeting a boy," Saetbyeol announced, standing up and waving her hands around the place. "I wonder how she managed to sneak that around the company ..."
