Permanent [Budo x Ayano]

Chapter 8 // Hospital

Budo's POV
"Alright, you're free. Do you want the knife to defend yourself with, or do you want me to take it?"
"You take it. I'm trained in martial arts."
"Let's go." she opened the door, knife in hand, "What the f-"
"Where are we?" I asked
"We're at Akademi.. this is the info club.."
"Akademi? We need to get to the guidance counsellor's office." I said. We immediately started walking downstairs. My leg was in a lot of pain due to the stab wounds, so I couldn't walk that fast. We bumped into Ayano and Taro on the way, so they helped us get there.
"What's going on here?" the counsellor asked
"Info-Chan drugged me and Budo and held us captive in the Info club.. she tortured Budo with this knife.." Megami explained
"Aishi-San, Yamada-San, take him to the nurse. I'll call the police immediately. Megami, stay here. I need you to explain everything."
"Let's go bud." Taro and Ayano helped me next door, the nurse's office. Our regular nurse was back from her vacation, so I didn't have to deal with the pink haired bimbo.
"Oh my.. what's happened?"
"Budo was stabbed, the counsellor's calling the police. Please help him." Taro said, helping me onto the bed. Ayano remained silent while crying, holding my hand tightly. I could feel myself slipping out of consciousness, so I used my last effort to comfort her.
"A-ya. I'm.. gonna.. be.. fine. Okay?" I looked at her and smiled
"She's going to pay for what she did to you."
"Ayano, come here." she moved closer to me and put her forehead against mine. "0104" I whispered
"My birthday?"
"My phone.. pocket.. don't tell.."
"Okay, what do I need to do?" she whispered. I felt her hand sneak into my pocket.
"Messages.. unknown."
"Alright."
"Sorry.. in advance." I smiled
"Budo.."
"Aya." she leaned forward slightly and kissed me. It wasn't exactly how I'd imagined it to go, but I was happy nevertheless. Her soft lips would be the last thing I felt for a while. Suddenly, everything went dark again..

Ayano's POV
I kissed him... I kissed Budo. I don't know why I did it, but it felt right. And I don't regret it, but I can't focus on that right now. He needs to get better first, and I need to deal with Info-Bitch..
While I was sat next to his hospital bed, I pulled out his phone and entered my birthday as the passcode. Unlocked. Why was his passcode my birthday? That wasn't important right now...
I looked through the messages between him and "unknown" as he asked me to, and what I saw made me very angry.

She threatened him to stay away from me? Can only love.. that's why he asked me. Puppet? Budo is NOT a puppet! Budo saved me, and I'm forever grateful for that. He makes me happy, not even Taro could do that.
What's this? He was going to ask me on a date? Nah, it was probably just a taunt. I scrolled down again.

He means EVERYTHING to me. His feelings towards me? What does that mean?

What is she talking about?

He's so brave.. he's insane. I like it. I just don't like that she hurt him.
"Ayano." I looked up
"Budo, you're awake!" I rushed over and hugged him carefully.
"Hey." he hugged me back, "About earlier.."
"Not right now, Budo. We can talk about this when you're feeling better."
"Ayano I'm feeling better now."
"You're in hospital Budo."
"But Aya-" I shut him up by kissing him once more. It was probably a bad idea, but it worked momentarily. "That was a really nice way of telling me to shut up." he laughed

"Budo.. what exactly did she do to you?"
"I.. Ay.. just look for youself." he closed his eyes
"Where?"
"M-My arm and my leg." he said in a monotone voice, much like my Yandere voice. He continued to cover his eyes with his other arm, and showed me the damaged one. Info-Chan had cut the word "Ayano" on his arm with a knife. Just seeing my name cause him pain made me tear up.
"She said that if I loved you so much then I should have a permanent reminder of you. She said it would be the last time I saw you. She said she wanted it to be the last thing I saw as I bled out." he said blankly
"Budo.." I held his hand. I pulled off the bed sheets slightly and pulled up his hospital gown a little. There were 5 stab wounds on his thigh.
"Those were for each time I stood up to her." I covered everything up and tried to move his hand away from his eyes, "No.. please!"
"Budo, it's me. I promise." he slowly moved his hand down and looked at me. His eyes were filled with tears, I hated seeing him like this.
"Aya.. p-please.. don't let her get me again." he squeezed my hand.
"I won't. I promise. Please don't cry." I smiled sadly
"I'm sorry." he wiped his tears away.
"Don't be. This isn't your fault Budo, it's mine."
"No. Don't say that."
"Then don't blame yourself."
"Deal."
"Budo, about those messages.. you are NOT my puppet, and you mean everything to me, okay? Never forget that."
"I won't."
All of a sudden I heard a door open, I looked over - Taro.
"Hey Budo, you okay?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"Do you mind if I steal Ayano for a quick second?"
"Yeah just.. not too long please.." he requested
"You're sure?" I asked
"Go on."
"I'll be 2 seconds, okay?" I hugged him and walked out with Taro. I closed the door behind us and we sat down.
"What's up Taro?"
