3rd person POV

We live in a world where finding your soulmate is a big deal. You can be discriminated against for dating or marrying someone other than your soulmate, sexuality doesn't matter. There are strict rules about your soulmate and how you interact with them.

You see, whenever you write or draw on your body, it appears on your soulmate's body. You aren't allowed to write questions about who or where they are, or tell them anything about you. Meaning you can't write your name, what you look like, or where you're from. This isn't even just a silly rule, it's a law. You could get arrested or fined based on how bad it was. It's supposed to protect the special feeling of figuring it out on your own or simply running into them one day. They have an entire branch of government dedicated to these laws.

Despite nearly everyone being ecstatic about finding their one and only, there are people who don't care. They'd rather find the person they love on their own, and not who they were 'destined' to be with. Others would rather not deal with the trouble, or focus on their career. These people were shamed upon.

Mark was one of those people. He didn't want the trouble or the attention it drew in. Nearly everyday, people were asking to see the new masterpiece on his body. There were extraordinary paintings, although sometimes there would just be dried paint on his fingers because his soulmate had painted on someone or something other than himself. Even still, his peers crowded him to see.

The reason the art is so fantastic, and why everyone cared so much, was because his soulmate was the Seán 'Jack' William McLoughlin. The famous artist who longed to meet his soulmate. He hoped that if he and his colleagues painted on him, he would realize who it was and try to contact him, or if Jack were to see him in public, he'd see the art and know.

Mark wanted to find him, alright. But not to find eternal love, or happiness, but to tell him to stop being a canvas and to leave him alone.

🌸This is a teaser the next chapter will be out, however it got deleted and I'm behind schedule so I'm not sure when it will be out. Hope you enjoy!🌸
