"Finn honey, is that you?" Called Finn's mom as she heard the door open.
"Yeah mom, it's me and Millie." Finn called back.
Finn's mom put down the knife she was using and ran towards the door.
"So you're the Millie that Finn won't stop talking about? Well it's a pleasure to finally meet you. How are you?" A blush was quick to find its way to Finn's cheeks as his mother introduced herself.
"Hello Mrs. Wolfhard, I'm doing fine. What's this about talking about me?" Millie replied, giving a joking look and a nudge to Finn.
Desperately wanting to get out of the situation as fast as possible, Finn decided to shut down the conversation.
"You know what mom, it was a long day at school. I think Millie should relax, so why delay?" Finn said while pushing Millie towards the stairs.
"Alrighty Finn, I'll tell you when dinners ready!" Chuckled Finns mom as they went up the stairs.
Once they reached Finn's room they threw their backpacks down and Millie began to look around.
"Sorry that my rooms a bit of a mess. I try to stay tidy, but you know I'm a bit of a procrastinator at some things." Finn began as suddenly every mistake in his room became one thousand times more obvious.
Millie was immediately at home. The room felt cozy and warm, essentially Finn in room form. Well that was a bit weird but it made sense in her mind. Finn made her feel warm and comfortable, so it'd make sense that his room would be the same.
Watching Millie look around with a content smile on her face brought a grin to Finn's face. Something about seeing her happy made him happy. She had that affect on him, whatever she felt he felt. That one time she was angry at Mr. Bernstein for her bad grade, he got angry. When she lost her favorite ring, he shared her sadness. And now it was the same situation but with happiness. And he loved it. He wanted to stay in the moment, a warm feeling in his chest with his favorite person in the world, forever.
Finn didn't think he could deny it anymore. He was falling for Millie Bobby Brown. There was no way she would ever feel the same but that didn't matter. Being her friend was still great, he'd just wished there was a way she could like him back.
"So what do you want to do?" Finn asked, not wanting Millie to get bored. She looked around before jumping onto the bed.
"Why don't we just talk? I like our conversations, they're always nice."
And to Finn, that was the greatest thing to hear.
