Chapter X

It's so hard to have someone to love

"You seem awfully happy Mills, what's going on?"

Caleb nodded along with what Gaten said.

"Yeah, are you feeling alright?" Caleb added.

"I'm feeling perfectly fine, in fact better than fine." Millie stopped and turned to look at the boys on her right. "I'm actually going on a date tonight." She said, hardly containing the smile on her face. The announcement stopped the boys in their tracks, a look of bewilderment on their faces as they looked at their friend.

"Did you actually say yes after Romeo asked you a billion times? I've only heard 'Will you be my Juliet' about half a dozen times." Gaten said in a mocking Romeo voice.

Caleb sighed and rolled his eyes as he remembered all to well Romeos previous attempts at a date with Millie. "Yeah, if you wanted him off of you, you could've just asked us."

Millie laughed as she listened to her friends talk about the local pretty boy Romeo Beckham. He could have and has had almost any girl in the school yet he kept going back for Millie.

"God no, I'd never say no. But I won't tell you who it is yet. I want to make sure everything goes well without you two interfering again."

Caleb snickered as Gaten threw his hands up. "One time" he said under his breath exasperatedly.

Millie turned to walk away. "Now if you excuse me, I will be on my way."

After she had left Gaten turned to Caleb.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Yup."

As Millie walked out of the school she had a brief moment of panic.

"They wouldn't, would they?"

"Hey Finn, could we talk to you for a second?"

The freckled boy jumped in his seat as he looked up to the boys standing above him.

He took off his headphones, the loud rock music audible as he looked up in fear.

"Could I help you guys?" He asked, a slight tremor in his voice.

"Yeah, we just wanted you to remember to do what we said." Caleb said, doing his best attempt at being menacing but obviously failing.

Finn thought back to his last interaction with the boys but could only remember the fact that they'd helped him with Troy.

"I'm sorry man, but I don't remember what you're talking about." He said as he awkwardly smiled.

"Don't break her heart." Gaten said, leaning against the table in front of them.

As soon as Finn realized what they were talking about, he quickly nodded. "I had no intention of it."

Caleb nodded "Good."

Finn looked at the clock on the wall and stood up. "Speaking of this, I have to go."

Before he could leave Gaten called out one last time. "Finn!"

Finn turned to look back, "Yeah?"

"Have fun tonight."
