Maya's POV

I was right when I said I was going to wake up with the worst hangover ever. It was the epitome of the worst hangover ever. Emotionally I was scarred from my makeout with Luke and physically my body was drained from all the alcohol that I had consumed. If there was the one thing I enjoyed about Aus, it would have to be the younger drinking age here.

Running my hands through my now frizzy hair I cringed at the sight of me as I looked at the mirror. Between running home and throwing up, I had completely forgotten to take off my makeup so now I had black under-eye circles and shiny gold glitter all over my face. I quickly took off my old makeup and tied my hair up before heading downstairs. It was around 11 and my brother was sitting in front of the TV, while my mom was behind him on the couch drinking coffee.

"Morning mom," I grumbled as I passed her and went straight to the refrigerator. My stomach growled at the sight of all the leftovers from the party that were stacked up in the fridge.

"Hi sweetie, sleep well?" She asked noticing my hunger and getting up from her couch, "don't eat the leftovers for breakfast! I made some pancakes they're in the microwave so they wouldn't get cold." She closed the fridge before I could grab some mashed potatoes and kissed my forehead, extremely motherly, making me groan.

I thanked her before I dug into the pancakes, sitting on the couch where she was previously.

"Isn't dad supposed to come home today?" I asked her in between chewing and cutting up another piece of my pancake.

"Maya do not talk with food in your mouth!" She lectured and I rolled my eyes before she continued, "but yes, your father is coming home sometime tonight so make sure you're home."

I nodded my head understandingly, before making a mental note to cancel my plans with my friends to go out for dinner. The sounds of 'Paw Patrol' came through the tv as Ben sat in front of it, with two toy cars in his hands rolling them around. I smiled at his playfulness. Somehow this boy was able to stay up late last night and still be able to wake up early and not be tired. If only I could've had these traits. They would be extremely helpful for school. I was pulled out of my thoughts when my mom began to make a large amount of noise in the kitchen. I cringed at the sounds due to my hangover and turned to see her placing some tiramisu into a glass box and looking up at me.

"When did you make that?" I asked her pointing towards the amazing desert and walking to the sink.

"This morning while you were sleeping. Can you give this box to the Hemmings? I promised Liz that I would give her some the next time I made it," My mom explained as she pushed the box closer to me.

I tried to remain calm as I nodded my head, but on the inside, I was screaming. The last thing I wanted this morning was to have the chance that I would see Luke after last night. I haven't even talked to Mali about what she saw, moreover, I haven't come to accept what happened either.

"I was planning on going for a run right now so I'll drop it off on my way out?" I mentioned and she nodded her head approvingly before responding.

"No problem, just make sure it gets to them." And with that, she walked back over to the couch and I headed up the stairs to change.

After putting on a sports bra with a fitted top and some running shorts, I grabbed my shoes and headed back down the stairs. It was currently summer here in Aus which meant it was about 100 degrees every day and night. I picked up the glass box and my headphones before saying a quick bye to my mom and Ben and leaving. Like always it only took me about 1 minute to get to Luke's house and as I made my way up their porch steps, every inch of me prayed that anyone but Luke would open the door. But of course, my prayers weren't answered and about 10 seconds after ringing the doorbell I found myself looking at the beautiful human being known as Luke Hemmings.
