It was morning. I flutter my eyes open and look around. It's a bit quiet.

Looking down at the ground, I see Brendon already left.

Well, at least he saved himself from me accidentally stepping on him.

I sat up in bed and stretched while yawning. I had a good rest.

I then get out of bed and walk out my room and in the bathroom.

As I walk in, I notice the mirror was fogged up, and writing was on it.

It read: come down stairs, there's a surprise waiting!

Well thanks for letting me brush my teeth.

Sighing, I walk out the bathroom and walk downstairs. I wonder what's the surpr-OH WAIT.

That conversation that one night we were having a sleepover. What if it's THAT surprise?

Giggling, I continue walking downstairs and I already smell Brendon's morning coffee and hear him singing a random song about the kitchen.

"Morning." I said as I walked up to him and he smiled.

"With that smile on your face, I assume you saw my message on the mirror?"

"Yep."

Brendon smiled and put down his coffee. "Kitten, I wasn't sure if you'd like the surprise, but Sarah convinced me." He said and I giggled.

"Whatever it is, I'm gonna like it." I said.

Brendon sighed and grabbed a yellow envelope from the counter.

"I know your birthday is months away, but make this an early birthday present."

I grinned and looked down at the envelope he was handing me and took it.

What the hell is in this thing..

Walking over to the living room with Brendon following behind me, I sit down on the couch.

I take a deep breath. Who knows what's inside?

I couldn't wait anymore. I quickly opened the envelope with my thumb and pulled out a piece of paper taped shut.

I peel of the tape and open the letter, I could see Brendon smiling uncontrollably.

I look at him and look back at the letter.

"Dear Ivy," I read aloud.

"It's been years since we've seen each other, and I'm happy we've got a chance to be in contact. With your new dad's help, talking to you like this was made possible, for that I am grateful. It has taken so much begging to let my foster mom Celia to let me do this, but atleast I'm here, with you. Finally!" I stopped there and looked at Brendon.

"Brendon..who sent me this?"

He giggled, "Keep on reading."

Ok.

"I thought it was time for us to reunite. Much as we both don't miss mom and dad, at least we grew close enough to miss each other.."
