So, these are the bursae of the knee... Art.Genus is the most complicated articulation of the human body , and its functions are ....... droned Dr.Ramakrishnan, our Anatomy Professor. It was 2:10 in the afternoon and a distant crow was testing its vocals from the Neem tree next to our building!  No one was really in the mood to cram up complicated Latin terminologies just after being loaded by the greasy lunch provided by our college cafeteria. The class had a heavy silence. The kind of silence one can observe during day time trains,  after the lunch session. A silence that strongly highlights the satisfaction of a heavy south Indian meal (with its exquisite kootu and poriyal) and swiftly sinking into slumber!!!!

Peeking at our watches for every 5 minutes , we were reluctantly jotting down the names of the bursae, the ligaments and articulations... I was struggling to keep my eyes open and had started to use my elbows to support my skull from drooping on the desk asleep, as  I felt someone nudging at my shoulders, 'What??' I whispered as  I turned to see Vidhya thrusting an irregular piece of paper with some scribbling on it...I quickly got it and returned back to my original position. Pretending to take notes, I opened the note slowly. "Stop trying to drown the class with your drool, Miss. Shravanthi", it said.... I heard a unison of mild chuckles behind me...Yeah , Right .... I thought as I chucked the thing away ...

I had the most coolest buddies...  Vidhya, Diya, Sanjay ,Daniel , Joel and Myself.... We were medicos all right? But we knew how to have fun!... There is a conventional thought that medicos were not the cool types and the only thing they knew was to cram texts from books the breadth of bricks... But nah! We were the coolest bunch in our class... Some people openly admitted that they envy us bunch .... We did okay with academics too, so the profs kinda didn't mind if they ever saw us chilling .... Joel was the most brightest of us all and the coolest!!

Triiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!! went the bell. The shrill, old thing sounded like Mozart's Melody to us all!

And that's it for today. As for tomorrow, I want all of you to submit your record works on my table first thing in the morning , ordered the Professor....

There was a visible wave of relief all through the class, since 'Anatomy' had ended!!! Because it kinda started to feel almost  like pig latin at the end... Good thing the that the bell went off!

'Hey, so Whats the plan for today?' hooted Diya to Vidhya and sanjay , since they were all resident students and had their Hall days coming up... They were all pretty excited about it , since hall traditions are an important aspect of this campus history .. I envied them .. I wanted be to a resident student too! Sigh, but I lived in the same city, Madurai!!!! And they were all from different parts of the state ... But its okay ...I loved Madurai... It had a magic of its own and I wouldn't wanna trade it for anything else......!!!!

Kootu : A South Indian dish in which vegetables and lentils are added and cooked in a semi solid consistency.

Poriyal: Again a South Indian dish cooked by shallow frying of diced vegetables along with a mixture of spices.
