"I just.. I just.. I just can not believe it was him," Nayeli cried as she burst into tears in Tamaya's arms.
"At least he told you," Tamaya sighed. "Why not tell me the whole situation again? One last time. To check for any signs of Eugene lying."
Nayeli nodded and began again, "Well, I ran after Eugene into the forest after our quarrel. I screamed his name aloud and I apologized. Then, I felt a tap at my shoulder, and turned around only to find it was Eugene. I apologized. He told me to sit down and we started to talk. He revealed himself as the culprit after awhile. I refused to believe it at first. I told him he did not need to take the blame for anyone else's wrongdoing. But Eugene insisted it was him. I cried and cried for awhile. Then, I wiped my tears, put my strong face on, and told him that he should stay away from us for awhile. He did not meet my eyes, but agreed. We parted ways, and I do not know where he is right now. Probably in a cave near the forest. I am sure that he returned to where he stayed before he was found."
Tamaya squeezed Nayeli and promised her that everything would be fine. "Nayeli.. we must get back to harvesting the few crops that we got this year..," Tamaya remembered.
"I will be right there," Nayeli said. Tamaya nodded in understanding and went ahead. The calming sound of Friendship Falls was the opposite of calming for Nayeli. Sometimes it reminded her of the good times, but for now, it reminded her of all she had lost and what she might lose. Her food and shelter. Her best friend. Her sister. Her true love.
She wondered what she had done to cause this. She attended all ceremonials and sacrifices. She properly worshiped the spirits and her ancestors. She had lived a normal life, up till now. She had nothing but love for everyone... at least not to the point where she wanted to take the life of someone. Nayeli couldn't help but let another tear roll down her cheek.
One thing was for sure. Nayeli definetly wouldn't take her life for this. She cared too much about her family. They needed her. Her friends. They loved her. Her future. She needed it. She was strong. She knew life was about moving on, and she believed this was just a test. She would move on. Sure, a hole would be left in her heart, maybe it would never heal, and maybe, just maybe her upcoming happiness would leave that hole forgotten in the deep, dusty depths of her heart.
But for now, Nayeli wasn't ready. She wasn't ready to move on. She wasn't ready to forgive and forget. She wasn't ready for change. She just wished time would freeze for a moment where she could take a deep breath and someone would wrap their arms around her and tell her everything was going to be okay.
She hoped it would be Eugene.
But instead, Tamaya did. Nayeli didn't realize that Tamaya came back for her. Tamaya's eyes were filled with sorrow and pity. She truly cared for Nayeli.
"Everything will be okay," Tamaya promised.
And Nayeli tried to believe her. "But I will never forget how sorry those green eyes looked. I gazed into them, and the truth spilled out. Those beautiful forest green eyes. I will never forget," Nayeli cried. Tamaya looked confused. Then she realized.
"Nayeli. Eugene's eyes are blue."

hehehe... SUSPENSE!!!!! Well, this chapter was short and meaningful. Please do the drill, RAVC, and hopefully you know what that means now and if you don't check out my bio, and reread what I said it was. XD
I seriously hope you emotionally connected with Nayeli, as I have too. I try to potray her as a strong independent woman, but everyone has their weak points. Nayeli hasn't really revealed her super inner emotions yet, so I'm glad she did here. I also hope your attachment with her has grown with the chapters.
Who/What do you suspect? Any comments? Questions? Please be sure to write them down below! Let me know what you think of this chapter emotionally, and if you would like something similar! If I keep chatting with you here forever then I'll never get to writing the next chapter... which will leave you hanging xD!!
Luv ya lots and can't wait to hear what you have to say,
