You woke up the next morning on Mark's couch, wrapped in blankets.
"Mark?" You called.
"In the kitchen," he called. As you walked in, the smell of pancakes and bacon filled the air.
"You like pancakes and bacon?" Mark asked.
"Who doesn't?" You said. You blushed at how cute Mark looked with messy hair and a sleepy voice.
"Thank you, Mark," you smiled at him as he handed you a plate piled with pancakes and a couple strips of bacon.
"I imagined you would be hungry, seeing as we both had popcorn for dinner last night," Mark said as he took his own plate to the table.
You ate in silence for a few minutes. You sighed, knowing you eventually had to say this, "Hey Mark?"
"Yeah?" He looked up and said through a mouthful of pancakes.
"Um, listen, about what I said last night..." you started.
"(y/n), I know you didn't mean it like-" Mark started.
"No, no, I need to apologize about it."
"No, you do-"
"Mark, just listen. I just need to clear this up. I was not saying that to imply that I don't wanna date you. I mean-jeez, I'm just making this more awkward, aren't I?" You sighed.
"A little bit," Mark admitted.
"I thought so. What I'm trying to say is, I wasn't trying to imply that I wouldn't want to do anything like that. I'm sorry that it came across that way. I just-I don't know what this is."
Mark thought for a minute before staring into your eyes, "to be honest, neither do I."
There was a bit of tension after those words were said. You ate the rest of your breakfast in silence. You decided to go after that. You grabbed your purse and your phone and said goodbye to Mark.
"Thanks for celebrating my first video with me, Mark."
"No, problem, it was fun." Mark smiled at you, but you still knew things had gotten messed up. "See ya around, (y/n)."
"See ya," you said as you closed the door. When you got home, you went over to your keyboard to compose, hoping it would help you relax. You sang the song sadly with the notes filling the house.
"I'm sorry I messed up,
I know I did wrong,
but I sure do hope soon,
that we can move on."In a few minutes, Mark texted you.
Sounds good.
You looked over and realized you forgot to close the window.
Sorry, forgot to close the window.
No, it's okay, I like it.
Okay, I'll keep it open :)
After you composed for about fifteen minutes, you went downstairs to watch tv. You sat on the couch, turned the tv on, and hoped that you didn't mess up things with Mark permanently.
