Alec couldn't contain his laughter as he walked down the centre aisle towards his Uncle. After hearing Cordelia's not so great solo singing, now a tuba player was on stage and the look on Giles face would make anyone double over in laughter.

He had been stuck with hosting the talent competition and from what he had seen, it seemed their wasn't much talent in Sunnydale. "Well, well, well, if it isn't my now famous uncle, the great producer!" He exclaimed, throwing his hand down to pat Giles on the shoulder as he and the others sat down around him.

Giles turned to look at them tiredly as Xander smiled widely at him, "had to see this to believe it."

"Oh. You four." The watcher sighed in a less than pleased voice. You'd think he'd be happy to get some good entertainment from them. Then again, they were only there to tease him, so Alec could see why Giles wouldn't want them anywhere near him.

"The school talent show. How ever did you finagle such a primo assignment?" Buffy tilted her head to the side, enjoying the annoyance that was radiating off her watcher.

Giles frowned, "our new Führer, Mr. Snyder." The new principal. He was nothing like Flutie, who was a bit weird but still tolerable non the less, Snyder on the other hand was a dick and in his short time at the school, had already made mostly everyone dislike him. Especially Alec, since he and Buffy had gotten detention when he had caught them making out in the hallways. Such bullshit. Now he couldn't even kiss him girlfriend without having to look over his shoulder.

"I think they call 'em 'principals' now."

"Mm. He thought it would behoove me to have more contact with the students. I did try to explain that my vocational choice of librarian was a deliberate attempt to," he drew in a deep breath, "minimise said contact, but, uh, he would have none of it."

"Giles, unto every generation is born one who must run the annual talentless show. You cannot escape your destiny."

"If you had any shred of decency, you would have participated, or at least, um, helped." Giles huffed, pointing at all four of them.

Alec perked up and said, "well, if it were on a full moon I could shift in front of them. I'm sure that would get the crowed all riled up." He joked but saw his uncle didn't find it funny at all. "C'mon uncle Giles, do we look like we have any talent?"

Buffy laughed, smacking his shoulder. "Exactly. I think I'll take on your traditional role... and watch!"

"And mock!"

"And laugh!"

The four of them laughed and Giles kept his gaze ahead, not even being able to look at the annoying teenagers any more. Buffy took the hint and stood up from her seat. "Okay. I think maybe we better leave our Mr. Giles to this business he calls a show."
