Book: Basic Instinct, Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Chapter 19: Some Assembly Required
Word Count: 7008Buffy sat a top of the grave stone, playing with her yo-yo as she stared at the grave in front of her. "C'mon, Stephan, rise and shine. Some of us have a ton of trig homework waiting."
"I'd rather be out here messing up some vamps then doing trig homework." Alec said with a disgusted look on his face.
"And that's why you're failing trig."
Alec shrugged his shoulders. "Why is this guy taking so long? I'm getting antsy." He whined.
"Looks like lazy bones here doesn't wanna come out and play." She played with her yo-yo again.
"I'm sure when you first wake up it's a little disorienting. He'll show." Alec cracked his neck. "I can't imagine going through it."
"Have you spoken to Xander or Willow?" Buffy suddenly asked.
Alec looked over at her. "Willow yes, Xander no. Every time I see him I want to knock him out." He mumbled the last part. "I'd rather be in a room with Angel then him, and that's saying something. Plus, he's not that bad when he's drunk."
"I hate that you two aren't friends anymore." Buffy sighed. "Is it because we danced?"
"No." Alec said quickly. "Yes and no. I can't be friends with someone who constantly goes after my girl. It's breaking all the bro codes."
"You don't have to be jealous of him." Buffy said softly.
"I'm not jealous of Xander." Alec pouted. "I mean, look at him and then look at me, it's a no brainer who you'd choose." He said cockily.
"So you weren't jealous when I danced with him?"
"Danced with is a pretty loose term. Mated with might be a little closer." He said under his breath but she heard.
"Don't you think you're being a little unfair? It was one little dance, which I only did to make you crazy, by the way. Behold my success."
"I am not jealous."
"You're not jealous? What, werewolves don't get jealous?"
"Why do you always bring up that I'm a werewolf?" Alec huffed.
Buffy sighed, "look, I didn't come here to fight." The vampire who grave Buffy had been watching jumped up from behind her and knocked her into Alec. "Oh, right, I did."
Buffy turned back around in an instant and started throwing punches at the vampire. She kicked him in the jaw, sending him stumbling back. She looks around frantically. "Where's my stake? I - I know I had a stake! Did you bring a stake?"
"I only brought these." Alec lifted his hand that now had claws protruding from the tips, his eyes glowing gold. "Watch out!" He shouted as the vampire picked up a shovel and tried hitting Buffy with it.
