I'm running through a dark forest, but I don't know why. I reach an empty cave and quickly duck in, breathless. What I thought was an empty cave, was not empty. There was a strange man and woman standing before me, staring. The woman was tall, slender, blue-eyed, had golden-brown hair that was waist length, and as many freckles as stars in the sky. The man was tall, muscular, with amber eyes, hair as black as night, pale skin, and holding sharp facial features. I noticed that the strange man also had faint wings as fragile as glass upon his back.

I became very frightened for these strangers had the same facial features as I did. "Who are you.",I demanded. The woman stepped forward with a look of pain in her eyes as she placed her hand on my cheek. "We have missed you my dear Robbyn, so very much", the woman said with eyes tearing. "How do you know me!", I practically yelled, " Who are you!" The man and woman looked at each other with a pain I knew too well, the pain of losing someone.

"It is your decision wether or not to believe us, but we are your parents", the man said barely above a whisper. I stared at them, slowly backing away. They couldn't be my parents, yet that would explain the excruciating pain embedded in their eyes. After all these years I had thought my parents hated me, but that couldn't be true if they remained looking at me with such longing. I still couldn't believe that these strangers were the ones who had cared for me so long ago.

The relief I felt didn't last for long because I remembered that these strangers were also the ones who abandoned me as a child. "If you really loved me then why did you leave me", I demanded. "Robbyn we loved you more than you would ever know. We left you because we were murdered by a group who didn't want us together.", the woman replied as calmly as she could. " But of you were murdered than why are you here right now? Why can I see you?", I said quietly. I thought I knew the answer but I didn't want to believe it.

"Darling child, we are only a dream. We are real but this is the closest we can reach you to love you and let you know that we didn't want to leave you.",the man said. I quickly ran to them to hug them and show my affection but they began to disappear into the background. "No. No! Don't leave me! I've  lost you once already! Don't leave me again!", I screamed. " Just remember Robbyn, we will always love you to the deepest part of our souls. Goodbye Robbyn.", they said in unison while fighting tears.

As they completely disappeared I fell to my knees, sobbing. Why did they leave. I began to scream at nothing and sobbing. The scenery around me began to fade into nothingness. I began to hear a female voice saying," Robbyn. Robbyn. Robbyn! Wake up!" This was when I awoke into reality and was being shaken by my best and only friend Raven.

" Wake up sleepyhead!", Raven said while shaking me. "Huh?", I replied groggily, mouth dry and sore. " You were crying and and screaming don't go at the top of your lungs!", Raven said with a bit of irritation. "Do you want to wake up the rest of the orphanage?!", she said. Before I could get a word in Raven continued," Now hurry up and get ready or we'll be late for school!"

Raven was my best friend, my only friend. She had different looks from me but with just the same weirdness. Raven had pale skin that maintained a beautiful vibrancy to it. Her eyes were very strange for one was an amber-orange color ,but the other was a blue that seemed to always change shades. Her hair matched her eyes perfectly for she had orange hair with blue in it, but strangely had pure white highlights streaking down her long ponytail. She had many freckles that covered the majority of her face. Raven was a unique beauty but outcasted among everyone for her looks. I hadn't thought about before my dream, but she had many features that reminded me of my parents and myself. That was a crazy thought so I let it go.

Raven and I loved each other very much in a friendly way and supported each other no matter what others thought. We were the only family we had to each other. I hated school because everyone made fun of us, but we fought everyone together. It was time to go to school and Raven picked something for us to wear to hopefully not be made fun of. I already knew today was going to be tough as we were bombarded with spitballs ,boarding the bus. But I could fight it.

I would like to thank portal_geek for the character of Raven. I hope everyone will enjoy this series just as I do! Thank you everyone!
