After the spitball escapade Raven and I walked to the back of the bus, hoping we would be left alone, but sadly we weren't granted with this. As soon as we sat down a burly looking boy turned towards us and said," Hey look at this boys, we've got a grandma on board." I knew he was commenting on my snow white hair. "And look at the freak show that just escaped from the circus.", he smirked this time talking to Raven. I was getting tired of all this bullying just because we looked different from the normal kids.
This was the typical start to the school day. It would only get worse because teachers would make fun of us(I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true), students would pass mean and threatening notes to us, and we were always alone. As we walked down the halls we would get knocked around and students would take our books and throw them around. We've gone to the counselor before but their advice never helps. Our lives are awful.
The bell had rung for everyone to change periods when this terrible day somehow grew worse. I was walking down the hall when I noticed someone staring at me. He had blonde-brown hair, green eyes that would sometimes change to blue color, and freckles thrown across his face. He was tall and thin, but wore clothes that showed he would pick a fight with anyone who got in his way. I also noticed a scar that reached across his small nose blemishing his handsome face. Though he was incredibly handsome I began to feel angry that he was staring at me.
"What do you want", I said ,walking towards him. He began to back away but I continued to confront him. "Why are you staring at me!", I practically yelled. He still continued backwards slowly bringing his hands in front of his face. I was tired of people staring and bullying me so I blew my top. "I'm just as normal as you are so stop staring at me!", I yelled.
I began to feel a burning sensation beneath me skin, but it was slowly diminished by a feeling of freezing cold running through my veins and continually growing. " I am not a freak!", I yelled with so much fury that I almost passed out from the cold in my veins. I felt the cold flowing out of my hands and heard screams around me. As I looked around me I only saw ice and terrified students. The strange boy smiled strangely at me and I ran quickly out of the school with Raven not far behind.
As we ran from the school I began to hyperventilate. " Calm down Robbyn. Just breathe. You need to breathe.", Raven said as she rocked me back and forth. "It's going to be ok. We'll figure this out together. Just calm down.",She said in a comforting tone. My breathing finally slowed and I could think for a while. "All I can say is what did I do", I asked Raven ,demanding. "I don't know how to explain it, but you got really mad and ice cold, then suddenly you started shooting ice from your hands.", Raven said quietly. This was all I remembered before passing out from shock.
Much later...
I woke up in a strange place with Raven and the strange boy from school standing over me applying a heated washcloth to my forehead. I jolted up and confronted the boy," You're the one who made me this way! What is your problem!" He looked at me cautiously before replying," I'm not the one who made you this way, the faeries did. You have been cursed just like the rest of us. Welcome to the Council of the Cursed." I then passed out once more.
I would to thank thejaustin for coming up with the character of the strange boy. He will be very important later on and in the next part you will find out his name. Also sorry that this chapter was shorter than usual. Enjoy!
