1: Moving

I finished packing my clothes and sighed, I can't believe we're moving to a place called Beacon Hills. I have never heard about that before, I walked outside to the living room to see mom packing all the kitchen supplies.

"Hello Honey" she smiled at me

"Why do we have to leave?" I asked her perhaps for the hundreds time, she sighed and gave me a sad smile

"The sheriff there needs my help darling" I nodded, mom is a detective. The best too, she's badass with a katana and one day she is going to teach me how to be as good as she is with one. She grabbed her katana hanging from the wall and made it as a belt and locking it around her waist

"When can I get one of those?" I pointed at the katana, she smiled and lightly shook her head

"What?" I asked her

"You're still a teenager, enjoy your life, go to parties have fun" Mom wrapped the glasses with paper

"But parties are no fun, I want to learn how to use a sword. You know, be badass, fight" I did some punching in the air which made mom laugh

"You're so unique" she giggled

"Got it from you" I smiled, the door bell rang and I walked towards it. I opened the door and there stood a smiling Luke

"Luke!" I jumped up and hugged him around his neck

"Woah, hey there kid" I feel his arms lock around my waist, I loosened the hug and smiled at him. I told him to come in and he immediately smiled when he saw mom

"Oh Luke! This is unexpected" mom wiped some dust from her face and smiled at him

"Well I couldn't let you guys leave without a goodbye" he hugged mom and rubbed my head messing up my hair, I know Luke got a crush on mom. I just wish she felt the same for him, he's like a father to me.

"And I brought you a present" he grinned

"A present?" Mom asked confused, he walked out the door and a few minutes later showed up again with a big basket

"Oh, what's inside" I curiously asked, he lifted up the blanket revealing a husky pup

"A dog! Mom it's a dog!" Mom rushed to the basket and stared at it shocked, I carefully lifted it from the basket an cuddled it

"Oh Luke, you didn't have to buy us a puppy" mom said surprised

"Oh I didn't buy it, I rescued it from the shelter. It was the only one no one wanted because it was labelled as aggressive" he told us

"Aggressive? Are you kidding me? This is the sweetest dog ever!" I scratched it behind its ear hitting the pleasure spot, the puppy immediately melted in my arms

"It's a girl, give it a name" Luke said to me, I stared at it and thought for a while

"Luna" I smiled, her head lifted up and her tail started to wag. Her icy blue eyes stared at mine

"Welcome to the family Luna Yukimura" mom kneeled down scratching her back

"Thank you Luke" I thanked him, he smiled and gave me a kiss on my forehead

"Well I have to leave, I just got called to an emergency at the vet clinic. I see you guys soon" he waved goodbye and exited the apartment, I glanced at mom and I noticed she had a sad face expression

"Something wrong mom?" I asked her, she look at me and smiled

"I don't think so" she answered me

"Is it because of Luke?" I asked again, she stared at me

"You know, he likes you" I nudged her arm, I see a tint of redness form on her cheeks

"Well, it's to late now" she sighed, I glanced back down at Luna. She's beautiful

Next Day

I threw my luggage in the back seat and buckled up Luna with a doggy seat belt attaching it to her collar, I kissed her head and she relaxingly laid dow on the seat closing her eyes ready to sleep through the whole ride. Mom finished talking with the moving thing guys and walked over to us, she stepped in the and buckled up. I put on my EarPods and turned on Spotify, I tapped on a random playlist and suddenly a k-pop song started to play. I checked who the artist was and it is a band called BlackPink, they're good I can admit that.

"How long is the ride?" I asked mom

"A couple of hours" she responded, I leaned on the car door on closed my eyes. I can't believe we are moving, to a whole new place, a whole new city full of people I don't know. I took a deep breath, it's going to be just fine. It's not that you were hanging out with friends home in New York either Dawn.

I feel someone shaking my body, I slowly opened my eyes and suddenly something wet licked my face. I glared at the person but saw Luna, of course a more logical explanation. I gazed around the place

"We're here already?" I asked mom, she nodded

"You fell asleep, now help me carry in these boxes" I unbuckled myself and walked to the back of the car, I grabbed a box and carefully brought it inside. I placed it on the floor and almost fell in the ground by the sight of the house

"This, this this" I stuttered, mom laughed

"This is our house" all the furniture are already at their place, it is light and cozy

"When did you get the money to buy such a beautiful house?" I mocked her, she playfully smacked my arm

"Things here in Beacon Hills are pretty cheap" mom told me, I walked around the house looking at every corner

"Your room are up the stairs, and the second door to your right" mom shouted, I ran up the stairs and opened the second door on the right. I gasped by the sight, a king sized bed are laying in the centre of the room, it had two door leading to the balcony with a beautiful view of the forest

"Oh gosh this is breathtaking" I muttered to myself, I grabbed my phone from my pocket and took a picture

"What do you think?" I turned around and mom is leaning on my door smiling, she brought my luggage up for me

"It's stunning" I smiled back

"I'm happy that you like it, now put on something nice. We are meeting the sheriff and his family for dinner" she told me

"Formal or casual?" I asked her, she thought about it

"Casual" she answered me, she closed the door and I opened my luggage. I decided to go with a pair of black high waisted skinny jeans, a light grey sweater crop top and a pair of black converse. I checked my makeup and it looked good enough, I grabbed my black bomber jacket and my phone and ran down the stairs. Luna is already fast asleep on the couch, wish I could sleep all day just like her.

"You ready?" Mom is wearing a blue skinny jeans with a white blouse, a black blazer and beige high heeled boots up to her knee. I nodded

"Be a good girl now Luna" Mom said, she snorted as an answer and made us laugh.

"Ready for a new life?" Mom asked

" I guess" I answered
