Suddenly, the phone started ringing. Nyonika  picked it up. It was nandini s mother on the line.
Divya : "Ji Namaste...Kaisi hi aap?"

Nyonika : (smiling) "Oh, Namaste. Main thik hu, aap kaise ho divya ji? Kaise yaad kiya? Meri yaad aai yaa phir apni beti ki?"
Namdu s face lit up like a lantern on hearing her mother's name and her lips curved into a smile.

Nandini  "Wohh...maine iss liye phone kiya, kyun ki aaj nandini ki pag phere ki rasam hai. Toh agar wohh aaj ghar aa jaati toh aacha hota."

Nyonika  and nandu.  had totally forgotten about it. She apologised to divya.   for the same. She assured her that nandu  would come.  "But, manik ? Wohh toh office chala gaya. Main use phone kar ke keh deti hu, ke sham ko tumhe pick karne aa jaaye. Tum jaa jar tayyar ho jaao, main driver se keh deti hu, ki tumhe drop kar de. Go!", she told. Nandu  was more than happy to go home, to meet her mother. She quickly got dressed and was off to her home. On reaching home,

Rishab : "Tu yaha kya kar rahi hai? Itne mushkil se tujhe iss ghar se dur kiya tha, tu phir aa gayi."

Nandu : "Shut up, yeh mera bhi ghar hai. Main yaha jab chaahe aa sakti hu. Samjhe tum?"

Rishab "Oh hello, tune jo kaand kiya hai na, uss ke baad tujh jaisi ladkiyo ka koi ghar nahi hota."

Tears welled up in her eyes, when she saw her mother. She ran to her and hugged her.
Divya  "rishab , teri behen apne pag phere ke liye aayi hai. Tu yeh kaisi baatein kar raha hai?"

Rishab  "Jo bhi ho, yeh yaha aaj ek din se zyaada mujhe dikhni nahi chaahiye!"

He went to her room and banged the door in anger.

Nandu : "Maa, kya aap ko bhi mujh par yakeen nahi?"

Divya  "Agar nahi hota, toh main tumhe yaha bulaati nahi."

The ladies smiled. Her mother inquired everything about her new home. Nandu  answered to all the questions patiently. Hours passed by, it was night. Still there was no sign of manik She called him up, but he wasn't reachable. She called up nyonoka to inquire about him,

Nyoniika : "Beta, I am really sorry. It seems manik  has gone out of town due to some office work. So, he won't be able to come."

Nandini's heart broke. She had been waiting for him since so many hours without even eating anything. Nyonika  felt sorry for the new bride. She was scared that her son was following his father. But, she also knew that even though she had failed miserably in bringing her marriage on the right track, nandini was different. She was the girl, who could bring sunshine in her son's life. She would never let manik  follow his father.
Nyonika : "And, I am in office. These plaza hotels, MD has come to India, and he wanted to meet the Board of directors immediately."

Nandini  composed herself and said, "Oh, I didn't know that. I'll come to the office in an hour. Don't worry. I am just leaving from here."

Nyonika : "Calm down beta. It's OK. You need not come. I'll manage. Aur kal hi toh tumhari shaadi hui hai. Aur main aisi saas nahi, jo apni bahu se shaadi se agle din hi kaam karwaye."

Both of them burst into laughter. She bid good bye to her mother and left. She reached the home. She again gaped at the sheer size of the mansion. Tonight, she was alone in this house. She quickly latched the main door properly.

Nandu: (thinking) "Chill nandu.  Tu itna kyu dar rahi hai. Kaunsa bhoot aa jaaega? Aur aa bhi gaya toh kya? Bhool gayi,manik  tujhe kya bulata hai? Jhaansi ki Rani!"
