Julia outstretches her hands and legs letting out a heart filling yawn. It is a cold morning and the taste of hot coffee would lift her spirits. Yesterday was a day she dreaded and she regrets the day she met Jamal.
Glancing over Thea's bed, it looks like it's been barely touched. She gets out underneath the warm covers and walks out of the room. The house is silent and a flickering light from the kitchen lets her know that someone is up.
Thea trails her eyes away from her phone to the disheveled Julia. She had on black laced Lois boiuttons with a beige dress and a boyfriend jacket.
"How the hell are you up this early?" Julia asks as she pours herself a cup of coffee.
"New boyfriend? I mean you made your bed and that's alarming"
Thea smiles as she sees her old best friend. Not the uptight I have to go to work Julia. She had an accountant internship and classes at night, making her the most dull of the crew.
"Well. I'm joining University tomorrow and they called me to go familiarize myself with the school today before I officially join" Thea stands as she grabs an apple from the fruit basket.
"You're starting tomorrow?" Chan asks standing beside Julia.
"Jeez why are all of you up so early? It's 6:30 am for pits sake"
"We wake up at this time Thea. Well except for Julia who wakes up at 4" Harriet enters, grabbing a mug from the cabinet
"Four?? How do you..."
"Stop changing the subject. When were you going to tell us you're leaving tomorrow" Chan narrows her eyes while crossing her hands. She was always the serious one and it seems like she has not yet told the rest about her brother.
"Tomorrow" She replies as she takes a bite off her apple.
"Tomorrow!!??" They all exclaim shooting piercing eyes at Thea.
She looks at her phone and immediately lets out a curse. "I have to go guys, I'll explain everything once I come back. Love you"
They all watch her as she hurries off awkwardly, grabbing an apple trying to lighten up the moment.
"When will she ever take things seriously?" Julia asks shaking her head.
"OH AND I'M USING YOUR CAR CHAN!!!!"

It was a two hour drive to Lardel Arpton University. She was meant to be there at eight and it was currently a quarter past seven. The road was now surrounded by a vast sea of grass and hills. She counter checked the GPS a couple of times to make sure she was heading to the right location. Indie records were playing through the car stereo as she tapped her fingers onto the steering wheel singing along.
It takes her twenty minutes to realize she was the only one on the road.
Suddenly everything felt tranquil and a bit scary. Watching horror movies that start with a car cruising down a desolate road, did not help.
Looking at the gas, a part of her relaxed as it was 3/4 full. No reason to panic. Everything was fine.
Soon she was able to see some sort of building in the horizon and by the time she arrives at the gates, it was five minutes past eight.
