Chapter 19: Need a Hand?

Silena

"Enough!" Baltazar barked, causing both demigods and Eidolons to halt in their fighting. They turned to look at him to see what he wanted. Silena's blood ran cold at the sight before her. Baltazar was holding an unconscious Bryn up by her hair, Kyklónas at her throat.

"Bryn!" Hallie exclaimed.

"She's not dead, but she will be if you don't do exactly as I say. Lay down your weapons, get on your knees, and put your hands behind your back," he ordered. Reluctantly, Silena and Hallie did as they were told. Damianos and Phlegon snatched the weapons up, shrinking them back into their non-weapon form and shoving them into their pockets. Baltazar then dropped Bryn, causing her head to hit the rocky ground with a sickening thud.

"I must say, I see now why you are considered the strongest fighters of your generation. Few people have lasted as long as you have against us," Baltazar noted. "You should be proud of that."

"Hang on, we're missing someone," Phlegon observed, looking around.

"Your twin, idiot. You're missing your host's twin," Damianos snapped.

A sword appeared at Silena's throat, pressing into her skin. Phlegon growled, "Where did he go?"

"To get help. But I have no idea where he is," she replied.

"Does he have the Helm of Darkness?"

"How do you think he was able to get out of here so quickly?"

"Damn it..." Baltazar muttered. "Okay, he's obviously coming back for them and he's going to be using the helm to do so. When he comes back, we'll take it from him then. For now, let's get out of here and to our base of operations. Knock them out. I don't want them awake right now."

Phlegon pressed his finger against the temple of Silena's forehead and she immediately blacked out.

When she woke up, Silena was in a completely different place, and most likely a completely different country. She took in her surroundings to try and figure out where she was. By the looks of the fragmented bed frame, dingy sheets, blown out windows, dusty floor, and crumbling walls, she was in an abandoned bedroom. She was on a second floor since she couldn't see the ground from her position near the window. There was a forest outside and she could sense water nearby as well, fresh water she believed.
