Chapter 8: Seeking out King Kai

Vegeta went through his usual training routine. He trained in 2000x gravity but for some reason, it didn't seem enough.

"Trunks! Come here!" Said Vegeta. Trunks stopped doing press ups and got up. He slowly walked over thinking that he was in trouble. "I need to develop a new move that is equal to Kakarot's Kaioken. Do you know where I can find someone who knows alot about it?" Trunks thouhtnfor about a good minute.

"Didn't Goten's dad learn it from some guy called King Kai or something?" said Trunks. "That's it!" thought Vegeta.

"As a reward for your intelligence, I will give you a 2 minute break" said Vegeta. He turned off the gravity and Trunks rested. "How do I get to King Kai?" thought Vegeta. "I could ask Dende..."

"Trunks, stop training. Go do whatever you want. I need to do something else important" said Vegeta. He walked out the gravity chamber and headed for Kami's lookout. There he was greeted by Mr.Popo.

"You rarley ever come here Vegeta. What do you need?" asked Mr.Popo. Vegeta looked around. Dende was standing by the edge of the lookout looking down on Earth. Vegeta walked over to Dende.

"I need to get to King Kai, do you know a way there?" asked Vegeta.

"Why do you need to go?" asked Dende.

"I need a technique similar to the Kaioken. King Kai is the only person who can tell me about it so I can develop my own technique" said Vegeta. Dende looked at him for a moment.

"Fortune teller Baba might be able to help. She can travel between otherworld and here with no problem. She lives west from here. You will see a building in the middle of the desert" said Dende. Vegeta took off to the west. There was alot of green grass at the start but later there was just a barren wasteland with no sign of life. The building was up ahead so he landed. There seemed to be no one here. Suddenly an old woman on a crystal ball came out of the building.

"Ah, there you are old hag. Now take me to King Kai!" Said Vegeta.

"Who are you calling old hag! I will not take you to King Kai unless you ask properly!" Said Baba. Vegeta held out his arm and powered up a ball of ki. He had serious expression on his face.

"Just because I've been protecting Earth does not mean I don't have the guts to kill anyone here. I'm still the prince of all saiyans" said Vegeta.

A drip of sweat trickled down as they both flew through otherworld. She kept an eye on him just incase he tried to do anything reckless. A planet was in sight. It was quite small but it had alot of grass. It had two trees and a small house that was a dome of sorts. They landed on the planet. There a blue alien washing a car. He was short, just about taller than Trunks. He wore round black sunglasses and a hat with two antenna like bits. He wore a black shirt with an emblem in the middle of it. Vegeta recognised the emblem.

"That's the same emblem Kakarot had when we had our first battle back on Earth. You must be King Kai" said Vegeta. He turned around.

"Yes that's my name" said King Kai "What brings you here Vegeta?".

"I need to develop a technique like the Kaioken so I can defeat Kakarot" said Vegeta. King Kai looked at him confused.

"What do you mean a technique "like" the Kaioken?" asked King Kai.

"I mean that I'm going to make a technique that multiplies my power but it has no side effects like fatigue" said Vegeta. King Kai looked very worried. He was in deep thought debating whether to fulfill his request or not.

"Okay but in exchange, you wear this while training" said King Kai. A vein popped on Vegeta's forehead.

"I am not wearing the same outfit as Kakarot!" said Vegeta. It was exactly the same as Goku's gi. It was orange with a blue undershirt. There were blue armbands, a blue belt and blue shoes. The only different between Goku's current gi and this was that this one had King Kai's emblem on it.

"I guess we're not training then goodbye" said King Kai. He turned around and continued to wash his car.

"I'll wear it!" said Vegeta. As soon as he wore it, he regretted everything.

"Good, now let training begin!" said King Kai.
