Her Friend

"Did something happened?"
"I told you not to ask." Phe said with her squeaking voice.
"Oohhh....Something did happened!" Angel said with a smirk.
"Don't even!" Phe yelled.
Ashlyn popped out behind Angel. "Maybe she saw Zach half naked." She blurted out.
"What?!"
"How'd you know?!?!" Phe asked, shaking Ashlyn.
"I can read minds, you know." She rubbed her chin then gasped. "Do you like him?!"
Phe's face turned bright red. She stammered. "No."
"But the look on your face though!"
"I'm only accepting him as a friend." Phe said, looking away and crossing her arms.
"Or even more than that." Angel mumbled.
Phe glared at Angel. "What was that, Angel?"
"Nothing!"
There was a knock on the door behind Phe. "Hello? Is anybody here?" It was Zach's voice. Phe quickly hid under the coffee table and kept quiet. Angel opened the door.
"Oh. Hey Zach!"
"Is Phe home?" Zach asked, scratching his head.
Angel turned around to look at Phe. Ashlyn peeked to look at her. "Tell him I'm not here!" Phe whispered.
"Why?"
"Just tell him!"
Ashlyn just went ahead and yelled, "Phe said she's not here!" Phe frozen in shock like turning into a stone statue.
"Ok. Tell her I'm just checking up on her." Zach turned around and left to his dorm. Phe curled up and hid her face under the coffee table. She was still thinking about hurting Zach. She could still see the bandages on his hand with scratches.
The next morning, Phe couldn't sleep. She got up and got ready. She looked at her hands and the symbol. She covered it with her long sleeve and acted like it was nothing. She walked out of her dorm and walked to her class. She approached to the Potion Making class and opened the door. No one was there but the teacher. "You're early."
"I guess I am."
The potion teacher took one look at her. "Do you have feelings for that boy?"
"What?"
"It seems like you do. Everyone may end up falling in love with someone who they're close to." She said.
"How do you know?"
She smirked. "I used to have a friend like you. Her name was also Phoena." Phe's eyes widen. "She fell in love with someone she knew a long time ago. All she could think was about our magic being dangerous to all of us."
"What happened to her?" Phe asked, looking at her.
She looked down. "She disappeared along with him. We didn't know what really happened to her but all we know was she took our magic away from us thousands of years ago until 15 years later, they've come back. We've been searching far and wide to look for her but we couldn't sense her."
Phe looked at herself and rolled up her sleeves to look at the symbol on her hand. She was afraid to tell what happened yesterday with Zach. She closed her eyes and rolled her sleeves down. Why me?! She was trembling in fear about herself being dangerous to her friends.
After class had ended, Phe has been avoiding Zach ever since yesterday. She approached to theater class and sat right next to Ashlyn. Phe saw Zach's friends going to him and giving him high fives. "You could confess to him if you want to." Ashlyn said, smiling.
"I'm not ready yet."
"Suit yourself."
Phe didn't want to confess her feelings to him. Her heart was beating fast. Ba-bump! Ba-bump! Miss Harbor got on the stage and yelled, "Alright! Everyone, the play is this week! Please practice your lines and acting until the play is here!" Everyone was yelling and screaming at each other.
Ashlyn and Phe practiced their lines with each other. They laughed as they go through.
The bell rang and Phe walked out with Ashlyn. "See you later!"
Phe waved back at her. She turned around and saw Angel with a boy. She approached to them. "Angel, who is this?"
Angel was surprised to see Phe. "Phe! Meet Sean, top student in the Wyvern's House."
Phe chuckled. "You have a thing for him?"
"Shut up!" Angel whispered with a blush on her face.
"Hey. Angel told me all about you." Said Sean. "I heard you have a thing with Zach."
"ANGEL!" Phe yelled. Angel giggled and tried to hide her face from her.
"Sorry. Well, I have to go. See ya!"
Angel and Sean went to their next classes. Phe turned around and walked alone to her class. Until she arrived to Sword Training class, she saw Zach with Claire. Claire looked down. "I wanted to tell you this for a long time." She said. "I've been having feelings for you ever since we've met."
Phe was thinking about Claire confessing to Zach. Phe suddenly heard her heart beating again.
"I'm sorry. I can't accept it." Zach said.
Claire paused for a moment. There was a long silence in the air. "Is it that Calli girl?" Phe's eyes grew wider. "It's her, isn't it?" Zach didn't say anything back. Claire looked at him. "If you confess your feelings to her, how would you feel if she rejected your offer?!"
"If she won't accept my feelings, I won't give up to protect her!"
